Tracking conversions using URL builder and Google Analytics

Hey guys,
Im wanting to more accurately track conversions coming from direct email marketing and Im a little unsure as to how best set this up.

At the moment Im using Googles URL builder tied in with advanced segments within Google Analytics to test and measure static links placed within various sources, but would like to do the same within my actual follow up emails within aweber.

To clarify what Im currently doing...

Emails are being sent every 3rd day, (using aweber) pointing back to generic articles on my site. I understand I can simply tag the querystring values (using the URL builder) to the end of each article link within the email itself, like so ....

mysite.com/articles/some-article.php?utm_source=email&utm_medium=link&utm_c ampaign=aweber

.....but what about the actual buy link (Clickbanks 1.xxxxx.pay.clickbank.net/) link that I have embedded within the email also.

Should I remove the buy (clickbanks direct payment link) from the email and set the link to firstly hop to my site to a page that redirects, in order to capture the referral data?

Like ...

mysite.com/clickbank-purchase.php?utm_source=email&utm_medium=link&utm_ campaign=aweber

....then set it to automatically redirect to 1.xxxxx.pay.clickbank.net ?

I hope this is making some sense.

Essentially I just want to monitor my conversions within Google Analytics so I can accurately measure the effectiveness of my email marketing efforts.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on how best to set this up.

Oh, and lastly, I want to ensure that I do this in a way that doesnt negatively affect my affiliates.
