How long did it take you to make your eBook?

How many days/weeks/months/or even years did it take you to make your eBook? How many hours did you spend working on it every day/week? And was it worth earning less whilst writing the eBook in the end when the payments come in?

Pages? Depends on how much you're asking for. $7 eBook <30 pages. $50+ eBook you're looking at >70 pages. $250+ page book you're looking at 130+ pages. Of course you can't value page number, it's all about quality. But if you were to look at a 40 page eBook going for $300, you'd be asking questions.

      Images, yes.

Advertising? YouTube, FB, Articles, SEO, IRL, etc.

ClickBank? Yeah, why not. Supports affiliates nicely as well.

Done within a week? You'd be working very hard for that week or writing a shorter eBook.

In real life. Like flyers, posters, word of mouth, notice boards, offline marketing in general. You can advertise an eBook on YouTube by posting a quality tutorial/video guide/relevant video/inspirational video with a link to your site in the description or throughout the video. Research YouTube marketing.

    e books created...google it.

I had thought about using them myself..i am not an affiliate and have no idea how good (or bad) they are
Wouldn't risk it. Would cost a ****load and gives you little control over the flow of your business. Initially, do everything yourself and then outsource bit by bit. Never just say, here's $10k, make me a successful business. Kgo. Doesn't work that way.

We have several ebooks as well as back-end information products on the market...here's a rough breakdown of timing it has taken us.

Ebook 1 - 80 pages when we launched it back in 2003 for $47, that took us just under 2-months working ~ 1-hour a day (first one took us the longest). Since then, we have updated that ebook each year to present (it is now just under 300 pages) which takes us 1-2 days each year, price is now $67 with a recurring income back-end

Ebooks 2 &3 - Targeted a new niche, each ~ 100 pages too us less than 2-weeks to finish both with small sections outsourced in each (to have some diagrams created). These are sold for $37 each on CB and another platform

Ebooks 4-6 - Point ebooks targeting very specific systems - each are less than 50 pages and sell for $27 a piece. Mainly sell these as back-end to my existing customers and list.

Ebooks 7-11 Are joint licensed with partners in different niches - some I contributed to while others the partnership is more marketing oriented.

Ebook 12 is just finished in yet another niche, will sell on CB for $37-$47 following some initial testing.

In addition - we have membership sites, coaching program and have run different webinars, paid teleseminars, etc...

I'm a big believer in targeting niches that you want to take deep - keep expanding your reach and adding to products that target the same audience so you leverage your marketing by consistently increasing the revenue you are getting for each lead/customer.

    As for marketing techniques...

    1. Affiliates (CB and my own affiliate program run through 1SC)
    2. Blogs - huge traffic generation and connection with my audience
    3. Email marketing - list building via squeeze pages and off of our blogs
    4. Social networks, including Youtube, Twitter and FB
    5. In the first couple of years I did pay for advertising with Adwords, paid Ezine Ads - but haven't done that recently
    6. Doing more content swapping lately where we target specific content authority sites and offer to exchange content for eyeballs and links

      thats great thank you

what software did you use to write the ebooks? did you use microsoft word and save it as a pdf file?
with clickback do you just register and then upload your ebook and they advise you of the costs?
You can then link your clickbank account to fb, twitter etc?

I know there are many people who are into seo and services that are similar. I wrote an ebook on it. Since I have a lot of seo experience with ranking my own site. I

I wrote an ebook on the matter in about 3 hours.

I just answer one questions concerning selling seo services and one avenue.

The more simple you can keep your product the better. You just want to answer just one question and that's it.

This way you can create a lot more products much quicker.

But this is one of the keys to make money online it's creating your own products period.

Well you also need to know how to create traffic. But sales funnels are support important to set up.

I just launched my ebook, which is on creating ebooks. From start to finish it was about 3 weeks, but with my method, once you complete getting your content out your effort is minimal. It is also inexpensive and you don't lose control either.

Guys, I think that the word ebook is the term that
    is reducing your thinking.

Think of the words: ereport, whitepaper, special report,
etc. The word ebook is overused and makes potential
customers run for the hills whenever they hear or read it.

Also, if you're creating a product, it doesn't have to be
very long if it's packed with value. A video or an audio
packaged along with the report makes it more valuable
    and worth the extra money.

ereport or whitepaper has a cost,
audio version of the report using Audacity costs a bit more,
video version of the report costs even more (use Jiing).

    Get it?

Now, as for the original question,it can take a good hour or 2
to whip up a report if you know about the topic. Put together an
audio of the report in 1/2 an hour, a video version in another
1/2 hour. Voila! you've got 3 versions of your product to sell and
    distribute. 3 hours of work.

You'll need a few more if you need to research the topic.

If it's a niche 20 page ebook I'd be looking to have that done in a day - so eighth hours?? Outsource the cover to fiverr, plan out your TOCs and get cracking. Have each chapter addressing a specific question that you target audience would have.

The beauty with those ebooks it that you don't have to use size 12 font so you can make a few words go a long way Ideal for list building or selling on the backend for a few bucks.

I did a 14 page ebook the other day in 2 hours. One thing that any people forget to do is add your ebook to Amazon publisher for Kindle. I get a lot of people purchasing my ebooks on Amazon. before you could even list them for Free and those I would have my affiliate links plastered in. Now you have to at least list it for 99 cents. My smaller page ones I list at the 99 cent mark and my larger ebooks I list at $9.99.
