I am Confuse with Aweber & Email Marketing

Hi,

I am a little bit confuse with Email Marketing & Mailing List Law.
Let say we use Aweber and we have a list of customers who bought items from me in the past. They do not personally subscribe to my list but they are just my customer who bought item from me before.
I import them to aweber email lists.

Let say I got multiple web sites with different product niches.

Can I create separate campaigns for each niches in Aweber and send them the products promotion?
Is it right to do so?

Thanks,

Yes you can create separate campaigns, just create different lists.

    Hey Stan,

It's very easy to set up different lists in Aweber and you can assign a different one to each niche...

But you say that they haven't signed up before (I guess you have their details from sales you made to them) As far as I know you can't just import those emails into Aweber...

One way to get around it would be to email these people and thank them for being valued customers and in the email give them a link to a squeeze page where they will receive their bonus gift etc.

That way whichever ones click through and sign up will be giving you permission to email them in the future. That's my thinking of it anyway - best of luck with it

Hmmm it could alright depending on the size of you list but that's the way it has to be done. Otherwise you'd be sending them unsolicited emails and you'll get spam reports sent to Aweber.

It's worth the effort to email them as I mentioned before because at least those who sign up to your list will be there because they want to be!! You'll find them to be a lot more responsive to your emails then instead of just sending mass unsolicited mail

They are our customers. I got no reason why we can't sent them follow up mail.

You're not going to be able to *import* them into Aweber
unless you have express permission to add them to your lists.

AW qill require this from you to mass import without firing off
an optin message to their list.

In order to send emails in Aweber the person must subscribe to your list. It is against any auto responders policy to just enter in emails into your database. That can get your account shut down. Its best to get a email every time someone visits your site.

Every decent AR service allows you to create lists (by subscription) in as many different niches as many you want.

The problem with your approach is the "importing" idea: that's what you can NOT do in most services.
