New storefront, How do I get traffic?

I've finally decided to dive in and start a storefront. Have the cart, going to be using Opencart.

I would like to get your input into ways to get traffic to the storefront once I get it set up.

I first want to look at free to low cost strategies to start before thinking about adsense.

If you were just starting a storefront, what would be some of your first strategies to get it going?

    What niche is it in? What products are you selling? Where are you currently getting traffic from?

    And I think when you say Adsense you are actually referring to Adwords. Adsense would mean you are displaying ads on your site.

      Yes, meant adwords.

      We're looking at selling birding supplies and gardening decor. (bird houses, feeders, yard ornaments, etc.)

      Also thinking about setting up a shop selling jewelry beads for the wife.

      Don't have the shop set up yet so don't have traffic.

      Thought I'd come here and see what the best ways were to build traffic and work on that also while I'm starting up.

    Adwords and Facebook ads come to mind for ecommerce kind of sites. And of course, ensure you set up an seo team. This will save you a lot of costs in the future if you're in for the long term.

    Depends on the kinds of products, try placing contextual links on forums related to your niche. Keep a log of where the traffic comes from and you will know how to build on it. I would suggest adding a Facebook like button, Google +1 Button, and Twitter Button to your thing to get social media involved more.
