968 positive reviews, 0 negative = FAKE fiverr claims.

Okay I have been using some fiverr gigs this week, learning as I go along since I am kind of a rookie there. One thing I did figure out is the providers who have astronomical ratios of positive to negative reviews only achieve that due to aggressive refunding, which allows them to remove negative comments.

The provider who made me realize this actually admitted to me that he gets about 20% refunds, even though his provider score shows ZERO negative reviews.

I mean realistically, even the best services in any market have dissatisfied customers, so seeing a big fat ZERO is herewith suspect to me.

Yeah i have quite often wondered how they can keep 1000 customers 100% happy. Surely you would have to get at least ten or twenty people not happy with your service:confused:

On Elance, I had 100% positive feedback and was 100% recommended for my first five years there, so it's definitely possible. What I learned from that experience though is that there are actually scumbags out there that will hire you and then try to hold your perfect scores hostage by making ridiculous demands that were outside the scope of the project.

For example, a guy hired me to write a 10k word eBook for xxx and then complained that it should have been at least 100 pages. Well, we all know the average typed page in Word is 600-700 words, and even if you plug in artwork and tons of bullet points, you're not going to be anywhere near 100 pages. He demanded a refund AND for me to write a 100 page book because he claimed I scammed him though, and his complaint to Elance said, "Since he has 100% positive feedback, that means he has to do whatever I say."

Obviously he had no case, the complaint as thrown out and I kept the money...but that was my 1st negative feedback ever and my 1st person who marked, "would not recommend." And that sucked because I delivered above and beyond what he asked for, including doing all the research myself and making it way better than what he was expecting.

So don't judge people for giving refunds because the truth of the matter is that there's a lot of pieces of $*@# out there that prey on folks with perfect feedback. It happens on eBay, Amazon and every site you can think of that accepts customer reviews, and unfortunately there are people out there who work the system and they don't care who they screw over to get a freebie.

Ultimately I had a choice on Elance...work for free sometimes or have 100% feedback. The latter doesn't feed my kids though so I accepted the unfair review and learned to better qualify potential clients. That's why I always have a conversation with the prospective client before I hit that accept button and if they appear sketchy, then I pass on the opportunity.

Hopefully that helps freelancers and employers understand the industry a little better.

I have used fiverr for some of my seo. Depending on the service I am looking for I have a set of questions That I Ask including how many refunds have you given? the ones that give you an answer other then zero are usually the best.

Looking at stats like that, I smell a rat.

It's almost as frustrating as those fake review sites for Clickbank products that give EVERY product in a comparison 5 stars out of 5.

Ha ha and 9 times out of 10, they don't even own the product.

But yea I don't focus too much on this aspect of fiverr.. yea some of them may be dishonest but at the end of the day, many people on fiverr offer great services for just $5.

If I see a few repeat buyers, then I'm game for testing the gig out for just $5. If I like what I get, I slap a heart on it and use it again if I need it...

It's no different than when many of us got started in IM.. We took a chance on something not knowing what the outcome would be.

Only this time, it's only $5.. LMAO..

Focus on the good that comes out of fiverr and you'll ...

and if you do happen to run into a trashy fiverr gig, create a folder for "trashy fiverr gigs'. Simple as that...

      Everyone have a great week!!

I have used Fiverr many times and have been pleasantly surprised. I have worked in customer service for over 25 years. Most customers are very good and respectable, however, there is a small percentage of customers who are just rude, obnoxious and seem to have the entitlement syndrome. It is easier to give them a refund and focus your time and energy on the good customers rather than ruin your day foucusing on the the small percentage who will never be satisfied. Maybe that is what this particular seller is doing. If the reviews are 100% positive, maybe that means that if you aren't satisfied with the work than you will be given a refund. At that point you haven't lost anything! That should be a positive thing not negative.

    • Yes, well, the problem with refunding to avoid negative feedback is that you train people to demand refunds. Which, in turn, hurts seller morale. It's only $3.92, after all. How much work are you willing to do for free?

Yes but you can respond to that feedback in a professional way, so everyone else can see it. I really like when businesses do this in social media, so why not on fiverr too?

I don't know whether the connotation is so obvious. It is unlikely that you shall keep an untarnished image for so long, but I suppose the actual number of negatives would also depend upon what you are selling.

I use Fiverr every day, its part of my business. I take feedback with a pinch of salt anyway and I read the reply to negative comments carefully. They often tell you more about a seller than the usual positive " Great seller!" positive comment crap that could have been put up there by his best mate.

If any site/product has ZERO negative reviews, they're lieing or somehow suppressing the bad ones.

No matter how good you are someone will always have something negative to say, without exception. (There are some real nutjobs out there).

If you see anything with 100% positive reviews and can never find anything negative, it's because the results have been manipulated.

    I guarantee this 100%.

Yes, what you say is mostly true.

I guess there are some rare cases when a business has 0% negative reviews (yet).
I've seen some Gigs on Fiverr with 2000+ reviews, 100% positive.

It was hard to believe that it was possible (without "cheating"), but I can see that some of them take a great deal of care when dealing with each Client.

I've been selling Facebook Cover Designs over the past 4 months, sold hundreds of designs.
Not a single negative review yet.

But I know that eventually one of those "nutjobs" will catch up to us. :p
There are some people that are impossible to satisfy.

Sometimes there are special ways of dealing with Clients, that helps to keep your 100% positive feedback intact.

I think this depends on how many gigs you have completed. I have a 100% record on fiverr but have only completed around 10 gigs. I am sure there will be some difficult customers at some point.

Although i have had a couple of picky customers but after some great customer service they eventually left me positive reviews.

My husband is a Top Rated Seller on fiverr, and I am a level 2 seller. Most of the time, the buyers are difficult. They don't give proper directions, and most of the time, they want $100 job for $5.00.

It is not worth my time working with these buyers, and many times, we cancel orders and refund before the work even gets started in order to not waste our time. If someone is going to give me a negative feedback, and they are unhappy with the work for what ever reason, we generally fix it, and everything is fine. We do make mistakes. That usually is what happens. I always ask for the opportunity to fix it before they leave a negative feedback. If they are just super difficult, then, yes, I will cancel the order and refund their money. My refunds are less than 2%. Also, once I refund an order for work already done, I either undo the work, or I don't allow them to use the product. They don't own it if they haven't paid for it.

There are also buyers that try to give negative feedback to get free product. Many times, the support can tell when this is happening. Support helps both the buyers and the sellers so that this can be a trusted site to buy and sell from.

Also, we belong to a group of great sellers, and when there are problem buyers, we share their username, and compare notes.

      Hi,
I had one Fiverr vendor offer me a full refund if I would remove my review, which basically informed people he was good at this, however, I had issues with that. And, I tried to be fair to him in the review.

I ignored the request as he had also undertaken quite a bit of work and I put it down to experience, even though I had contacted him to ask a range of questions prior to ordering the gig.

Basically I refuse to remove a not so positive review if requested by a Fiverr vendor, because I think people are entitled to make a more informed decision. Anyway, I also didn't like the fact the person tried to bribe me in order to have the review removed.

Being on the seller end of Fiverr are brutal especially for writers I would imagine.

Sometimes people just expect $100 worth of service for a gig they're buying and can be very difficult to deal with.

I wouldn't imagine those service being worth my time as a seller.

It's kind of smart though when you think about it.

As soon as a gig goes south, you just refund it. Is there any reason for the person not to be satisfied if you just give him the money back?

No, not really. He's no worse off than when he started, and now he can't leave feedback.

Ya a few weeks ago I ordered this guys SEO package. I think it was for 155 PR 2-5 backlinks that were supposed to have been done manually. WELL.. obviously, it wasn't manually done when I got it a few hours later and with a couple hundred more backlinks. So, I randomly tested maybe 10 out of the gig and they were PR 0-2, but majority was PR 0. I did, however, leave a positive review but stated that majority of the ones I tested were 0's.

He immediately emailed me this lengthy message about how I obviously did not see that I could email him before a negative review, and that it could effect sales, etc etc. WELL.. it wasn't a negative review. I just happened to add to my positive review that they all weren't what was advertised LOL.

So in order to "fix" this he wanted to send me so many wiki backlinks and what not to change my review. I changed it, but I still haven't seen them. So I guess I will be changing that review LMAO.

It's hard to say which one are real or fake dealing with Fiverr sellers. What I have come to realize and experienced, most seller who are used to the system and the way things work add extra care when dealing with clients and are willing to go above and beyond to make sure the negative feedback is avoided. Often when you purchase a gig, the seller will ask that you first contact them before leaving any remarks to give them a chance to fix any problems with the gig to avoid the bad feedback; this I have seen and I'm sure it helps a whole lot. Now I do however believe that there is no such thing as clean rap sheet and some of the gigs that over a thousand positive reviews and no bad ones can be suspect as some people just are not able to be pleased but that is just the way business works. I wouldn't discount them all as frauds and accuse them of gaming the system.

I agree that seemingly impossible feedback sends up a red flag in the mind of most alert clients. That's why it is so important to check out a providers profile and samples too. This is true not only for Fiverr, but for any other site that provides a service. Let the buyer beware!

In my opinion, maybe for you and most of us a perfect rating would be literally faked, but for most of the people who use fiverr, 100% feedback = must have. In other words even if it's faked (like most of the reviews on the WSO's) it will get attention and conversion

I usually actually trust sellers a little more if they have some negative reviews (not too many mind you). Because the fact that they are willing to just get on with things shows confidence in their services.

Customer dissatisfaction is as much a natural part of business as customer satisfaction is. It's something even the best of us cannot avoid. So my advice is to not avoid it but to deal with it properly and do the best you can for each customer.

There's also the "funny Amazon review" style of marketing. (See Tuscan Whole MilkTuscan Whole Milk reviews.) I think feedback is character-limited but if you could convince some of your customers to leave funny feedback, people would start looking up your gigs just to read it.

There seems to be a u;tra parinoid enviroment in there where giving your best work would cause people to auto serial refund anyway.

Is anyone seeing any solutions to this?

Here is the way I look at it. ............................

Give your best and then refund if you have.
However I notice a lot of fiverr workers don't even build their lists for instance you can still provide them with download able training material for upsells. Grey area but them clicking the links in those materials would lead to a email signup.

Yup, that's what most of the people in Fiverr do to keep their business running fresh.

A week ago, I ordered a gig from a person and unfortunately I didn't like his service. Then I just gave a negative feedback. He offered me other gig in favor of removing the negative feedback that I gave to him.

So, you're saying that even without a refund, somehow the seller or Fiverr itself removed your negative comment? That, to me, is much worse than the subject of this thread about removing negative comments based on compensatory acts of the seller. That is just good business, as far as I'm concerned. But THIS is lying and cheating and false advertising!

I am always amazed at the value that I get from Fiverr. I like to think I am a good Fiverr buyer though, I know both where to find the value and how to treat my sellers fairly.

Negative reviews can be removed by the customer. This is why you don't see a lot of bad reviews.

I use Fiverr all the time and have purchased over 60 gigs with very few problems.
Contact the provider before ordering to be sure they can do the job. Don't just assume they can do it.

It is also a good idea to send them an example and give very detailed instructions. Start with one gig so you know they are up to your standards.
If they screw up, request a revision.

If you are still unhappy, you can cancel the gig and get a refund.

Are there fiverr gigs for giving good feedback on fiverr gigs?

    I had to chime in.

Its all about proposition and marketing.

See, yes, you can definitely keep yourself from getting negative reviews if that's a strategy you care about employing.

I've developed something I teach called the "Ace Up Your Sleeve" Method to sellers learning the fiverr ropes.

What I do is, every time I deliver a gig I always suggest that the buyer can get a free gig by doing a few things:

    1. Give a thumbs up
    2. Collect this gig (has tremendous promotional powers)
    3. Share the gig via one of the social share buttons
    4. Buy 1 more gig.

Admittedly this stages a quandry, which is exactly why I call it the ace up your sleeve.

If the buyer is unhappy, I drop down to "ok, just give it a thumbs up and I'll give you a freebie anyway..."

If that doesn't work and I'm working with a difficult buyer...cancel the gig.

If I get negative feedback....I plea to refund...rarely happens now that I've perfected this.

I've learned to leverage this to maintain 100% positive feedback while squeezing more money out of every buyer.

I also learned some other really cool ways to reverse and remove negative reviews, which a lot of folks don't really care about until they get them themselves...aka until they start selling their own gigs.

Maintaining positive feedback is definitely a careful skill that is very useful to have when you want to create that rubberneck effect on fiverr.

I think its the sleeper easy way to make money on the interwebs.

Hope that gave some helpful insight to some who are wondering about ways to game that system....but learning how to is oh so rewarding.

    Regards

    Los

I use fiverr all the time without problems. Maybe you should steer clear of the % rating and read the comments. I get a lot of work done on fiverr and have never had a problem except one late delivery. Maybe I'm lucky?

We should be careful before choosing a fiverr gig from now on. We should go as far as only order a gig that have at least some negative review on it. I definitely don't want to waste my time on someone who gamble on their work. Once this guy get a negative review, they just refund it. I usually order image research gig for my tumblr update post, and I will be more careful to observe a gig, because there are more than meets in the eye.

Try to find some Gigs that has at least a minimun porcent of refund and a lot of great reviews and buy some gigs... at the end is just 5 bucks.
    Best regards

I've seen somewhere people pays for fake reviews on Fiverr. In these days it's hard to find the best service provider.
If there is no negative reviews then read the comments also view other providers profiles.

Not necessarily. I have HUNDREDS of positive (525) ratings on Fiverr. None of them are fake.

Why should that surprise you? Just do a FANTASTIC job and OVER DELIVER!

Its definetley possible, but generally speaking fiverr's rating system is horrid and doesn't have the proper protocool to actually getting insightful reviews

I know this is an old thread, but I don't think starting a new thread to tell you what I know would make much sense.

    1. Yes most of the sellers on Fiverr refund so the negative feedback isn't submitted.

    2. What no one on here seems to know, is that FIVERR will remove my negative feedback if the sellers ask them to which is TERRIBLE.

It's no different than the scam on Yelp. Did you know they will remove negative feedback also? They just did it when I told my story about Young Living. And I spent hours creating that review because I never just say a company sucks, I always tell people exactly what happened & then I edit 2-3 times.

There isn't ONE site out there that is honest & ethical when it comes to feedback. If you know of one, let me know.

I'd love to start a review site that is honest (for the most part, meaning the liars are weeded out - you can never get rid of all of them).

I even learned from a pizza store owner that the Yellow Pages plays games with feedback, & if the company pays for their service, the negative feedback disappears.

So I stopped trusting Fiverr altogether.

Most sellers on there now don't know what they are doing & can't speak or understand any English.

That's why I'm constantly having to hire about 4-5 people just to get one job done correctly & I'm NOT going to pay for work that is terrible. I'm just not. In the end it costs me a lot of money because time is money & the stress of it all isn't something I enjoy.

Unfortunately, I'm a micro company & so I don't use Elance anymore & now that Upworks is charging even more to hire someone it's even worse.

Nope. One of the old crap threads got bumped - again - so a poster could get his rant in about all review sites being crooked.

Not understanding what's your question or concern? I have been using Fiverr for about 3 years and it's like anything else, you find some good gig sellers and some bad ones as well. I've had some of everything you can think of done to my website.

I've had some good content writers and some horrible content writers. I've had people do logos who were horrible and I've had great logos done. Just to name a few things I've had done.

So Fiverr is like anything in life there are some good and some bad on Fiverr. I also use Upwork, but it cost more.

I'm a Fiverr seller with over 900 5 star reviews. However, I have only 99% good reviews in total. I'm happy with that as it is authentic, and I do get a chance to reply to criticism as fairly as I can.

I made one mistake on a gig, for which I offered a refund, but the buyer declined. The others were people who wanted more than what they paid for. Two were students who wanted me to rewrite their dissertations, which I don't even offer in the gig, just proofreading. It's OK as far as I'm concerned as it's impossible to be perfect and please everyone.

Not only are Fiverr seller's artificially inflating their positive to negative ratios by aggressively offering refunds, many even go as far as to flood their gigs with positive reviews from fake ghost accounts. I have found that Fiverr's blog writing gigs are especially bad. You can order a $5 article from a supposedly established author with a flawless track record CLAIMING to be from the U.S.A. only to get your article back to find out it's so bad that even an author from India would blush

I'm fiverr seller myself and I think it's not possible to keep 1000 customers happy. What usually sellers do is they cancel the order or they ask them to change the review.
