How do i value my domain name

Hi

First of all i appologise if im in the wrong section.

I have a domain name NetChique.com

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to value it so i now what it is worth.

I did list it on godaddy for sale and i know the asking price is far fetched, but if it does get any bids i would like to know what value of bid to accept.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

    Hi Ezy:

First thing to be sure of is what kind of domain model are you applying.

The value of the domain, depends on:
    -recognition
    -marketability
    -development potential
    -traffic

You could get a professional valuer to carry out the valuation, usually the manual valuation is more reliable than just the software automated valuation. You could also check this out at sedo.com, afternic.com and so on for the valuation service they provide.

In my opinion, the domain would definitely worth more if it is seo'ed, monetised and so on the IM stuff that the parking domain and it is easier to flip. But my another view of domain is that sometimes, just the domain name itself can worth a lot more than the previous mentioned. You may want to check it out at DNJournal.com.

WORD OF ADVICE: IF SOMEONE APPROACH YOU AND SAID THEY ARE INTERESTED IN YOU DOMAIN AND WANTED YOU TO PERFORM APPRAISAL FOR THAT DOMAIN ON THEIR SPECIFIED VALUER, PLEASE BE ALERT TO CHECK ON THE VALUERS' INFO ON THE INTERNET. I HAVE COME ACROSS SUCH CASE BEFORE AND AFTER YOU'VE GIVEN THEM THE CERTIFICATE AT WHATEVER SITE, THEY DECIDED THEY DON'T WANT TO BUY. THE REASON BEING IS THAT THEY ARE WORKING/PRETENDING TO BE INTERESTED BUYER AND THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE MONEY FOR THEIR VALUATION SERVICES.

Thanks for the reply and the tips

I know a lot of flippers that buy domains want SEO'ed domains

But if the name is brandable then are you better off trying to target end users?
