Hello Warrioreeps

I wanted to ask if you would ever pay 2k-3k for your course? The course seems ultra legit,

Thanks

Yes, but then again I believe in Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy. With a course that costly I would first need them to show me the means to first make up the cost of the course which I would then be happy to invest into. But sight unseen, with a person I have no idea who he or she is, I would sign up for that course just as soon as I would sign up to have a endoscopy.

Yes I would but I would have to know them very well before handing over that amount of cash...

    Go do you due diligence.

Check out reviews and contact past students if possible.

Go check out the Warrior Review section - Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings

Be careful though... Some Marketers have good intentions but can get snowed under and not deliver

      Exactly so.

There are people selling online courses successfully for these figures, and for higher amounts. What they nearly all have in common is an established subscriber-base of longstanding customers who already know, respect and trust them, and have been sufficiently impressed with the value they've received from $997/$497/$197/$67 products, before buying a course for thousands.

I buy the high ticket products/courses but they are very much basic but in detail and very motivating.I think you should try one or tell me the name of the product.I will manage it for you if some of my team members have it for free.If you love the course , just go and buy it.

Probably Not, I usually like to see how the people selling courses are actually doing things themselves. I'd find one of their membership sites and join it.

If the $2000 membership included 1 on 1 coaching... Skype calls...
Mastermind webinars... Critiques.. Forum of like minded people..

And if this was for something I was extremely interested in and
would improve my business and income....

    Hell yeah!!

But it comes down to - What the offer actually is..

It would have to be of great value and not just a guru product launch..

      I agree with that one.

With such kind of support, they would not be able to coach more than 20-25 persons per session.

But honestly, why would I charge $2000 for such a program if I was making $200,000/year on auto-pilot?

      I dunno.

        Exactly!

****THIS is exactly why mentors don't give their time and expertise for free! ... And why they charge "high" prices for it. The ROI (return on investment) has to be there.****

It boggles my mind when people complain and wonder why people charge high prices for their coaching/mentoring.

Before paying $2k for a course, try this:

Write a business plan that based on your current skills and a $2k investment would give you a good return.

You now have $2k to spend on outsourcing both technical and writing, paid advertising etc. Now that's what I call leverage!

Anything else you need to fill knowledge gaps can be found on Amazon, as a WSO or simply by searching the forum for free.

I would guess that taking action with that $2k you will end up in a better place than handing it over to a deity of internet marketing.

$2000 is a large amount of cash to fork out upfront. Maybe you should consider changing your pricing model to a weekly or monthly rate (For example $199/month for 10 months).

This is my business investment question.

"Should I buy this?" = "Am I absolutely convinced that within 90 days, I will recoup my investment PLUS an additional 500% profit?"

That's what I consider a solid business investment.

If I'm not convinced of that, I will frequently invest anyway if I am reasonably sure I can make double my money back in 30 days, and prepared to lose my investment entirely if I am wrong.

That's what I consider a risky business investment.

Anything less than that is high-risk and amounts to buying lottery tickets. Or flushing money down the toilet, which is just about as effective.

Check for reviews on this forum, check if there is an author and find his feedback among people.

Very important point: Unless your target market is other Warriors, you're asking the wrong crowd. Be VERY careful about who you ask advice from.

(I've paid that much (and more) for courses and programs: $1,500 (Twice! total: $3,000 for two versions of the same program), $3,000, and $7,000 respectively.)

Take a look at the WSO section and look at the prices. It's possible a Warrior or two might pay that kind of money, but most won't. For the most part, you'd be wasting your time trying to promote a product at that price point to Warriors (although a sale or two is possible).

      As Will said:

Originally Posted by WillR View Post

"Would you pay $50,000 for a car?"

      or

"Would you pay $20,000 for a holiday?"

It depends what sort of car and holiday it is. There are definitely holidays I would be willing to pay $20,000 for and there are definitely cars I would pay $50,000 for. There are also a lot of cars and holidays I would never pay anywhere near that amount of money for.

Imagine you were selling $1000 bills for $900, you could sell them all day long, right? The same applies here. So long as the value you are offering someone far outways the investment then you will always be able to get people to buy your product or service.
It DOES completely depend on your subject/topic and target market. When I paid $3,000, it was for a course on a very specialized topic. And it included a lot more: DVDs of a previous conference, monthly training calls and bi-weekly Q&A calls, PLUS two live conferences that year.

Originally Posted by Alessandro Zamboni View Post

This is positively ridiculous. I've paid my mentor the $3,000 and $7,000 respectively and never asked for "verifiable proof of income." Although most business coaches/trainers will give you a ballpark figure of their income (i.e. "I've made 6 figures" or "I've made millions doing this.") most WON'T show you bank statements. Nor should they.

Instead, proof is provided through their statements, testimonials from current and past clients, published articles and books, through joint ventures with other established experts and organizations in the field, etc. That's called positioning.

Whether you believe them is up to you.

I WILL say though, that it IS a learning curve to be willing to spend that much. I was like most Warriors here, barely willing to spend 2 dimes with anyone. The cynicism and mistrust here is EPIC. NOT good if you want to build a business.

That first $1,500 product I bought way back in 2008 was a HUGE leap for me. I'd NEVER spent that much money with ANYONE before and I was very nervous, afraid of being ripped off.

But I'd bought from her (Mentor #1) once before (a $297 product) and she'd delivered what she promised. She also had DOZENS and DOZENS of killer testimonials on her sales page (for the $1,500 product) and offered a no-hassle guarantee. I figured if worst came to worst, I could always do a chargeback on my credit card.

So I took the leap and bought. It was worth every penny and I bought again the next year when she brought out the newest (and last ever) version of it.

That experience was a training ground for me in seeking out what I needed and being willing to spend (invest) that money in my business and trust that it was worth the price.

Two years later, in 2010, when I heard my current mentor (Mentor #2) on a teleseminar (hosted by Mentor #1) describing what she does, I leaped at the chance to get a free copy of her book and more information about what she did. In the process of getting the book, I saw the program she was offering (for $3K), knew it was for me and bought immediately.

Normally, I wouldn't have spent so much so quickly with someone I'd just heard of/gotten to know, but I knew OF her already since she was the founder and CEO of the National Association of Women Writers. Although I'd never joined NAWW, as a writer, I was aware of it and knew her name. At that time, NAWW had been around for 10 years. So she already had credibility with me from the get-go.

And since Mentor #1 introduced me to Mentor #2 by having her on one of her own teleseminars, it was in fact, an endorsement.

Some things are just more powerful than a bank statement. Nowadays, if it's something I need, feel is worth the price and I actually have the funds, I don't bat an eye at high prices. Up to $20,000 that is. (Hey, everyone has their limits! )

(Well, actually.... My mentor has a $30,000 program and I'd JUMP at the chance to pay it if I had it. But that's because it's a done-for-you program. She actually launches and markets your company FOR you for 6 months for that. I'd LOVE that!)

If you can make a $9 wso work by taking action on it 100% and can do that consistently then go ahead and take action on the 2grand course. There might not be much difference in actual knowledge. it's all about the presentation and the stacked benefits and emotional hooks. And the large price convinces you it must be worth at least half that right? Or maybe not. Practice being a completer finisher and you won't need a 2 grand course - you will have made it on your own.

$2000 is peanuts for the right kind of course. Just think what many pay for a semester at college, and they come away no better equipped than had they not attended in the first place.
But do your research to determine if it's the right thing for you.

Does it offer a path towards the fulfillment of your goals? Have others benefited from it, people similar to you (testimonials, get off your arse and contact a couple people).

I agree with WillR. If it's worth the money then yeah why not.

Ever notice EVERY SINGLE $2,000 course is emailed to you as promotion from someone you "trust".

They have to sell them that way because without social proof, they'd never sell a single copy.

The guys selling them are smart marketers, but being a smart marketer doesn't mean you produce a good course.

Then there's the after buy emotions that buyers go through. Since they paid so much for a course, they get very defensive about it. They have to protect it because they've invested so much into it and don't want to think they made a mistake.

You gain very "loyal" followers by launching high ticket courses. Marketers know that. Nobody wants to think they made a bad decision so even if the course is complete crap, the buyer will somehow try to justify buying it. Kind of like Steve Job's old reality distortion field. But that's another post for another day.

I have paid that amount for a course and even more for a
software. The course worked out but the software did
      not perform as I anticipated.

The major deciding factor is not whether you think that
the course is expensive or not but the ROI for the information
      you are getting.

Most people would pay $10,000 for a course if they think they
can make $100,000 as a result.

That 2 grand course changed my life (I bought more since then and I don't regret it). But yes most people will tell you that you are a moron for paying 2 grand. Also I paid 7 grand once (that is the most so far). And I'm sure I will pay more in the future. Just my 2 cents I hope it helps.

Without knowing what the course is, it's hard to say. If it is more of a membership, with webinars and one-on-one consultations, then I would give it a closer look.

If I have 2K and want to spend it on only one educational opportunity, then I would probably opt for a personal consultation or try to contact someone successful located nearby and just pay them the 2K for a meeting/half-day of their time. That way I could get exactly what I want out of it - and if it ends up being a bust, I could only blame myself.

Spending money on advertisements can be as expensive and if not done correctly - it would just go to waste.

Yes, if I think it can help my business I will. In fact, I've spent $8,000 in the last 30 days alone on a training course and a mastermind group from two different marketers.

It's nice to see another Warrior who "gets it." Between Nov. 15 and Jan. 3, I spent a grand total of $9,000 on courses and coaching.

It's probably all I'll spend on learning for the rest of the year, but that's because I'm IMPLEMENTING. (I'm still spending money on the implementing.)

But I'm VERY happy with my choices for learning this year.

      I agree with ron here.

I simply call this ROR or (Rate Of Return)

I have spent 5k on two occasions. At the time it was a small risk but the people, info and ideas I got from this coaching was the best and it took my business to the next level.

The people, contacts and also relationships where priceless also.

So you have to think what you are going to get in return before deciding on this. For me it was a no brainer and we recouped our small investment very quickly implementing a few ideas.

      2. Can I afford this if it doesn't work out?
      3. Will it interfere with my current business activities?

Don't take the course simply because it's available, take because you're at a stage where you can benefit from it, put it to work immediately and have some reasonable expectation of ROI.

Do NOT take the course if it isn't a good fit with what you're already doing, if will interfere with whatever you're doing or if you will need to go into debt to cover the cost.

This is the best answer IMO.

However I would like to add that the problem with $2k courses is that anyone can sell a course for $2k.

The sales tactic I see often for these money making courses online is along the lines of "here is my excellent lifestyle, travelling, beaches, fast cars etc. just imagine if you could have this. I have the secret. If you don't by this course you will be stuck in your dreadful life forever, but if you invest you can have it all. One of our students made $100,000 last week.. blah blah blah"

Very different animal to a corporate course on say law, or programming in C++.

If it is in line with your goals then do it, you REALLY need to do your du diligence first though, get names of other students, at least three, and speak to them by phone, this shouldnt be a problem if it is legit.

    Hope this helps

I would research it very thoroughly before handing over that amount of cash, as I have done in the past for software and training which turned out to be a dud!(didn't do my research!)

Once you've done your research and it looks like it will grow your business, if the course providers have a track record of success and trust and you will apply what you learn, then go for it.

You get what you pay for.

Sometimes when looking for quality you gotta come out your pocket for it.

Spending 2k on a course is a lot of money, but more than likely you are going to learn things you never knew existed before. I've paid for high priced courses and have had my eyes open to totally new worlds.

Just be sure on who you're investing in.

Some marketers will teach you things beyond imagination that will take your business to new heights. The key is just to implement what you've learned (something most people don't do)

Have a listen to any high profile marketer, Eban Pagen, Frank Kern, John Reese.

They've all invested tens of thousands of dollars towards coaching and mentoring.

You wont find guys like this buying $17 ebooks, hoping that something might "magically work"

on one side; people who actually rely on your testimonials to promote their business do

tend to deliver the best content (rolodex) in these type of courses and they don't get to

rest if you don't succeed but on the other hand,

others don't care if you make it at all ,they're purely scammers and their model is based

on making sure you have total beleif in them; and then you lost money!!

First you gotta be cent percent sure it's legit. Legit it the sense "Have talked Face to face to the person who is gonna tutor you", "Check out the reviews in trusted forums that he has got from his customers", "Make sure if any problem arises, you can track him down like create a dispute in case payment has been made through Paypal" Totally be cautious if u r Paying it upfront.

    Hello,
I'm glad that some people invest a lot in education. Especially I like the fact that warriors who privide a lot of value in every post, like Nightengale, Big Mike and John R. have also invested a lot.
To people who said to buy WSOs instead of an expensive course.... I have done it for 2 years and learned a bit but no major income changes came out of them.
Anyway, i have invested the money, will keep ya all posted whether it was a good move on my side

    Thanks for valuable info!!!

$2,000 is a pretty big expense, so if you have decided to spend that type of money for a coaching program, make sure you have done your research regarding students success and the guidance that is provided by the coaches.

It depends on you. If you are an action taker than go for it and make a ton of cash with it. If you think just because the course is 2k, it's not going to require hard work, you're wrong. So if you really go for it and believe in these people, then go for it. Otherwise STAY AWAY!

    Cheers

I am certain one way or the other you will pay. For example in the case of a expensive domain names with all if the trimmings. On its face it is a ridiculousness price to pay, I mean $10.000 for a domain name are you kidding..

Now for the sake of time, of detailed explanations, ask your self how much will it cost you to go through the back door. A domain name worth 10 thousand dollars we understand has a lot of weight. How much would it cost you to obtain the same goal and and keep in mind the time it will take... Not only will you pass up on obvious sales opportunities in the mean time costing you countless dollars but your man hours are a great value also and the money you will spend to get to the same level.

I would buy the domain name, as far as your software, if it holds the same weight I would go in the front door, save my self a lot of time, and money.

The key however is the weight of the product.

I'd pay this amount based on the value I receive. If a course is proven to work, and can make you $2000 a month, then it is worth a lot more than the $2000 you pay.

It's all about how much you can make in return, never about how much you actually pay.

    Hi,

If it seemed a good fit for what I was doing and as long as it was backed by a money back guarantee, I would buy it. I would be more inclined to buy from someone who was less well known as well. I don't take testimonials seriously anymore.
