Get Those First Subscribers? Help PLEASE!

Basically, I've finally realized that something most IMers need in their arsenal is a responsive list that you have a good relationship with... Which is what I am trying to create.

So I've created a freebie in the Career/Employment niche.

I've created the squeeze page (nothing spammy like the usual GET ME I AM AMAZING type things).

I've set up Aweber with the first Freebie and a conversational like email as well as a follow up freebie for a week later.

All sounds great! Except... How do I get sign ups on my list?

In your opinions, what's the most effective?

I've just launched a PPC campaign but only with $25 as I'm strapped for cash.

But what else can I do to get those initial sign ups.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

You need to get clarity on your target market and find
out where they hang out online and offline.

    Where do they go?

Then make sure that you appear there too.

Find out what they want and then focus your message
on proving that you can help them to get it.

Also, ask yourself who else has already assembled lists
of people in your target market and how can you make
them an irresistible offer to mention you?

    Dedicated to mutual success,

In my experience you will get no where with PPC when you are looking at your ROI.

Why not sell an extremely high quality product for extremely cheap?

Then you get higher quality subscribers which are all proven buyers?

You will also be listened too very closely because your subscribers received this really awesome product which you could have sold to them for $XXX and in fact they got it for $X.

Sure, the numbers will be less but building a list certainly is not a numbers game.

My quick thoughts... You can promote your offer on forums, LinkedIn boards, and via Facebook ads. You can buy solo ads but they're not cheap.
Did you try blog/site owners in your niche?

Thanks for the responses so far guys.

I'm testing Facebook Ads at the moment with a TINY Budget just to see how that goes.

I will look at contacting Site Owners in my niche.

    Thank you!

You can find some great email list marketing WSO's. One that I would suggest is Dave Kirby's WSO. I've built a good list using his methods. Good luck.

    Social sites.

    Get yourself a Twitter account

Add experts in your field. (they might re-tweet something you post)
Add people following those experts, some will follow you some won't.

To get them following you post few times a day something interesting with regards to your niche (but dont advertise anything), gain their trust.

Over time hopefully you will get followers, keep making your account an interesting place for people to get links to your niche, gain their trust as I say, every few days throw in one of your links/products, don't do it often.

It's more of a long term strategy, but it works.

    Do same on Facebook.

    Hi Manicmethods,

You could use an CPA offer to entice users into signing up. Something where if they enter an email they get a walmart gift card, that sort of thing, but close to your niche.

You would then build a landing page and then request the user to enter the email to be forwarded to the offer.

P.s. FB may be quite expensive depending on your keywords bid rates. Perhaps consider feeling out the water with 7search or a smaller network at first?

Peerfly I have found to be good for CPA offers.

It seems to me you are rushing into paid traffic sources without really knowing what you
are doing and, as you said yourself, without much cash. Take it easy on ads and explore
some free methods for driving traffic.

Can you go into more depth about the free methods that work for building a list?

to build a list, give away a report or some good interview skills for free and then you can promote affiliate offers but I dont know typically how much it sells in Employment niche. But the proces is to give first and then receive.

Many Marketers offer free content in exchange for a name and email. In the career employment niche, it could help to offer a report related to job search or interview training.

You need to bribe your viewers a little bit better to give up their information of course you want to offer nothing but QUALITY information.

Now you are at the point in your business where you NEED to start SPLIT testing what is working and what is not. Try testing out 2 headlines, then try the call to actions. Take that data run with the winner and split test AGAIN.

You want to always be looking for ways to maximize your conversions so these steps are very important. Don't let none of this worry you it is actually pretty fun once you get used to it.

Start with coming up with that MUST HAVE report first to offer in exchange for details.

I hope this helps out some take care to you much success,
