Help Me Choose my Domain!

Hi,

I'm launching a website soon and not sure what domain to go with. I was umming and arring of using the keyword without "service" and building myself as an authority and ranking long term. But I've decided to go after the keyword with "service" in it as much more targeted and will be easier to rank for.

But which combination do you like? Would you go with hyphen or no hypen? Also would you buy both the "hypen version" and the "to" and do a 301? Also would you have a to z at front or back?

Please note this is an example - not the real name for confidentiality purposes.

http://www.a-zdogtrainingservice.com

http://www.dogtrainingserviceatoz.com
http://www.dogtrainingservicea-z.com

Sorry I couldn't think of a better example than dog training right now!

Let me know!

First, I will only buy one, no point to do the 301 redirect.

Have you tried to do some keyword research? Try to find an EMD matching your niche with some decent traffic. Will make it much easier for you.

i will go with no hyphen .
Because hyphen domain is hard to remember from your visitors to look back on you .
with no hyphen may just influence your keyword.

agree but also disagree with this statement based on "context"

would a human be more likely to search a-z or a to z? how would a human write it?

a-z wins by a long way if you check the google keyword tool. Overall, agree with the hyphen comment sometimes e need to put it all in "context though"

a copywriter would definitely write A-Z as well not A to Z. food for thought.

All of those domains are average or terrible. The first one's by far the best.

Don't use a prefix. Use a suffix at the end of your keyword if you have to.

I prefer the first domain name.

but wait after doing some Google keyword tool research on both 1st and 2nd domain name I find out that the second domain will fit your website with less competition if you use your keywords very well on your site.

I also agree with Sbucciarel here

I will choose the domain with no hyphen because it is easy for other people to remember. How often you see a website with hyphen? For me, it is very rare.

And I will use the domain that is start with with your niche and follow the service.

All in all a domain name should make sense to the customers.. anybody should get a glimpse of what your site is about by just looking at the domain. All names make sense. It's only a matter of which is targeted more and has more traffic.

How about atozdogtraining.com? Just get rid of the service. It's a bit silly.

    the first one is best.
    Hyphens are harder to remember.
Stik with something easy to remember and that's
catchy. SEO it for best results.

Of those I'd go with the first one but really I would keep digging with the research to find a better domain name, and without the word "service" on the end.

    Best of luck.

Hyphenation doesn't affect SEO at all (as Google and Matt Cutts have taken some trouble to confirm both in writing, on blogs, and on video).

If adding letters/a word to your major keyword, for a domain-name, it's important and helpful to add them after the keyword, not before.

To avoid losing any potential SEO benefits, you need the domain-name to start with your keyword.

Not so good for dog training, perhaps?

First one or like what Suzanne suggested.. used atoz at the end of the domain name instead

    Alternatively consider including words like:

    Mania
    Paradise
    Holic
    Simple
    Top
    101
    etc..

    Hope this help,
    Jeremiah

The first one of yours looks best, try and get your main keyword in the address, it helps big time when used with SEO.

    Hope this helps
