Non US Citizen, have LLC and EIN, how to get a bank account?

Hi,

Suppose I've been able to incorporate an LLC in a state in the US, I've been able to get an EIN, how do I go about getting a US bank account for this LLC?

I've been contacting a few banks, and they tell me I need to come in person to a branch, that's a bit of a problem since I'm not in the US, I could fly over, but if possible, I would prefer to find another way.

Some banks tell me they need to do an on site verification of the office address, I don't actually have an address, I plan to use a virtual office/mail forwarding service.

I'm thinking I could maybe incorporate with someone in the US, and they could do the bank opening from there, is that possible? I'm not sure about this option, as I'm obviously not comfortable with having someone "out there" with access to my bank account, I would need to be able to remotely remove all bank administrative privileges they have on the account.

Does anyone have any experiences with this? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Dominique

You can PM me, I would try to help. Friend of mine told me once, that there are lawyers in US, that offer to open an account for non US Resident. Last I heard they charged around $300 for it. And as far as I remember, it includes a address, where your mail would come, and he would ether forward your mail to you, or deposit your checks to your account. I would try to cotactmy friend to find out more if you need

As far as I know you cannot incorporate if you are not an American resident. You cannot obtain an EIN without having a social security # either.

Try an online bank such as ING Direct. They may be able to help you.

Couple of things your need to do in order to be considered to get a bank account. Many people just get a business Incorporated with only using the R.A office address on the articles, which will cause more harm in the future. I suggest finding a company who offers a free street forwarding address but you have to pay for shipping of cause, in the US combined with your registered agent (RA) office, and add them both on your articles of Incorporation. You dont want to be calling major high street banks such as HSBC, CITI bank as they will require you to come in. This is easily achieved.

You dont have a friend or close relative? Consider asking to the people at the bank this question. I`m sure they want you as a customer.

I would think banks would want you as their customer. You can obtain an EIN also. You should not have any problem getting an account.

Try a local bank that operates in USA. HSBC used to offer that service for special clients.

The points you are making are in fact incorrect quote "impossible I would say," I have opened a US bank account with a forwarding address and i have been giving a visa debit card from a US bank account whom provided me with a routing number and account number. This is not impossible TRUST ME. Its easier to open a bank account if you have a business in the US.

Domado16 - My cpa in usa set my business bank account & advised me to set my llc in the state of Wyoming which is state tax heaven - state does not charge you their own state tax or personal tax. I got my whole llc set for 199$ (state tax+filling +1 year registered agent) + 250$ for setting my bank account all from my home in India. The whole process took a week.
