    Is it your writing?

If its not, don't use it. That's theft.

It is. You are stealing somebody else's work.

It is a crime. The fact that everybody else does it is not a defence.

Write your own content or pay someone else for their work. The only alternative is PLR content, which is cheaper.

(does anyone else's iPhone change "only" to "kinky"?)

As for adding the source - unless you have permission, it's still theft. It doesn't matter who you stole it from or if they stole it first.

Why not ask them for their permission? I am sure that they will accept the offer as long as you give them a backlink.

Or just use the main article to get inspired and write your own.

thats what i ment! i translate the article i get the idea and rewrite it on my blog i cant see how this is crime!

Check out the content with Copyscape first. If you find it to be duplicate try to ascertain the owner. If you can't don't use it - Google may slap you.
thank you i will do that this is probably what i was looking for

thank you for all your replies i got the point

If you can - perhaps you could contact them and ask their permission. However, Google will not be privy to that conversation and may slap you anyway!

Research, re-write, PLR are your options. But again - if you don't re-write the PLR and you are using it for SEO, so is someone else - net result - another slap from Google.

Difficult to win this one really. Solution - original content!

Just one more thought - you write original content, someone steals it, Google doesn't know who wrote it so everyone gets a slap!!!

I've seen this twice in two days now. That is nonsense and it'll read like crap.

    It's also stealing.

Why don't people think and verify stuff before they spout nonsensical crap on this forum.

I wasn't talking to you, sorry. I was talking to the person quoted in my post.

Apologies, I got the two of you mixed up, that's why I immediately amended my comment.

Rewriting someone else's article is the same as spinning someone else's article, it's derivative works.

Don't take my word for it, take Brian Kindsvaters, an internet lawyer.

It's ok to use it for inspiration but don't just rewrite it.

copying the article and then editing it , that's the same as finding one in your language and spinning it.
The problem is that it has no effect if you dont re write it.

Dont use Google translate to do the translation. The translation doesn't make sense at all. You have to check, make the amendment and at the end you are like doing the translation by yourself. Content is to make for "Real people" to read and not for search engine.

Either you are familiar with language or you can outsource it.

ok this is a bit offtopic but i have a question:
Isn't it the same if i just go to mall, take a microphone and start saying something i read on newspaper? isnt this the same with article rewriting? Do you say this is crime to?

      I'll try and explain it.

One is derivative works. That means stealing, it means I can take action against you.

The other is reading a newspaper out loud, it is legal and always has been.

Another point. When you take my article and rewrite it, you're doing it for your gain. You're using my hard work, for your gain. Going to a mall with a microphone only benefits the newspaper, you on the other hand get nothing from it, except for the fact people will think you're completely loopy.

As I said, don't take it from me, have Brian explain it to you, he's a Warrior and a lawyer. He'll also be able to explain why your example has nothing to do with what I said.

It's not about "saying" something is a crime, it simply is. Sorry about that, I didn't make it.

I do hope that helps though.

I think there is a difference between what most people are referring to when they talk about article "re-writing", which is basically word re-arranging, and taking someone's article, using it as a reference point along with one or two others, and writing your own article. It's a thin line, but it's important.

If it comes up in Copyscape as unique then you won't be caught, but that doesn't make it ethical.

In a nutshell, yes, it is bad!

    will google consider this unique?
The least of your worries should be Google, getting slapped with a lawsuit from the original author would be worse than any Google slap.

Making the excuses you're asking in this thread won't go over in court either.

What's wrong with doing your own research and composing an article all on your own?
