I've been writing professionally for 20 years. During that time, I created e-books, books, and sales copy for landing pages. I also delved in article marketing. However, I noticed in the last few months that my income stream has lowered quite a bit.

Has this happened to other people here? If you are busy, what methods of marketing have you been doing or are doing?

Thanks.

Harry

I have been doing article marketing for the last 15 years or so, although recently almost all of my writing has been done by local college students. Using article syndication as the foundation of a marketing model which is very closely outlined in Turn Words Into Traffic, my income has been rising consistently at a double-digit rate every year. This method drives over 90% of all my traffic and sales.

MYOB: Is article writing your primary method of income? Or do you do other kinds of writing as well.

I do other forms of writing in addition to articles, but only as a supplementary adjunct to support article marketing of affiliate products. For example, I build and write content for my own websites, copywriting, autoresponder series, product reviews, press releases, offline magazine feature writing, newspaper articles/editorials, whitepapers, etc.

You have to always keep creating more products so you can make money money from the existing email list you have in place..

You can always pay for traffic... But if you are already making money, why did you invest some of that money into publishing more quality unique content on the web.

Don't forget the internt ios all about content, if you create good information content you will get traffic for sure.

YOu can never have to much content on the internet

And something else, what did you not invest some money in software, and diversify your business

If you keep putting 100% unique quality content online(target of course) you can build a huge empire online...

It's not hard... It just takes a team

Get traffic from forums, banners, ppc, web 2.0 sites, blogs, guess blogging, tutorial sites, slide share, youtube, I mean the list goes on and on..

With your level or writing experience, you might consider being a ghostwriter or something to make up for the loss of income. Maybe it's the niche you're in or something. I do blogging and SEO, and my income has remained fairly consistent since the beginning of the year. I mean, it's obviously not the exact same every month, but I have seen a major shift. A lot of people in my niche do say that stuff kind of slows down in the summer months. I guess it's just because people are outside more and what not.

I am a ghostwriter. My problem is who to direct my marketing to. I was mainly using Elance for income. Until this week, I was getting nothing from Elance. Now I have three projects. However, I don't want to rely on Elance. I just thought people in this forum could share their methods of marketing to see if it was different from what I'm doing. We can learn from each other. You may be doing something I'm not.

      Thanks for your comment.

hhhusted It sounds like you should follow in MYOB's footsteps and start building a syndicate network. Alexa Smith and MYOB are the king and queen of syndicate network. Go check out the directory of Ezine's to get some sources. I would buy everything that MYOB and Alexa suggests to buy and stick close to those two.

Your situation is common among internet marketers, it is definitely true that income that comes from online marketing is unpredictable. Just go on,, the grass is greener on the other side of the pasture
