Where to find affiliates to promote your product?

You can try listing your affiliate program on some different directories.

Here is a list I actually just compiled a few months back for someone:

Best way to recruit affiliates is to just sell your product to happy customers within your niche, then entice them to your affiliate program.

If it's in the IM niche, launch your product as a WSO, then market the affiliate program to the buyers.

You can also try this service:

JVNotifyPro 2.0 · Joint Venture (JV) Lists, Announcements, Blogs, And Community Forums.

That's more for guru launches though.

What? Let's take for example weight loss product. I doubt that even 1% of the buyers know what is an affiliate, and many less how to be a succesful one.

I didn't quite understand how you thought that promoting to buyers would get more affiliates :confused:

Go on and create strong relationships with influential people in your market. One big influential affiliate can be better than 100 small time affiliates and once others see endorsement from them, they will jump on too!

great advice.. i think this will be my new strategy:
- submit my site to all the (free?) affiliate directories
- pay to list my program on warrior forum
- do a WSO lastly

I'm pretty new to this, are the links listed above all free?

"Affiliatefirst - They will submit to up to 50 directories in one shot for 60 bucks - but I don't know what countries this covers, etc." - doesnt seem to work , they are not offering this anymore...Are there any other sites that do something like this?

I dont mind paying small fees to for a service to submit my program to the major directories..

I'm also planning to hire someone from elance to submit my program to those sites listed above, is this a good idea? I'm trying to save time and get this done as quick as possible and don't mind spending $100-200 on this..

As mentioned above, that's been my main strategy.. delivering a good service, and then asking them to join

Are there any more specific tricks to getting them to sign up?

Find your competitions affiliates by looking up some high trafficked keywords that your target audience searches for with ads showing up. Build a relationship with the super affiliates. Pay them higher then the regular affiliates and show them all of your stats so they can see the epc. Give them swipes, tools, rebrandable material and treat them like gold. Just a small amount of super affiliates will give you a super boost.

Any one got any more links to affiliate directory submissions like the link above? Or this a bigger list of affiliate directories around there that i havnt found yet?

My product/service is targeted towards start-ups, IM'ers, and.. basically anyone that has a website lol.. so trying to entice a customer to become an affilate might be a good idea, if i was selling say a weight loss product i understand that would make no sense.

I've also told my customers that if they liked my product/service, they could refer a friend and i would send them money straight to their bank. is this a good idea? should i keep doing this?

How do i 'build a relationship with super affiliates?' These super affiliates are already promoting my competitors products.. how would i go about doing this?

Find out the names for competing products that also have an affiliate program.

Then google 'name review'

The search will show you affiliates promoting to your target audience. Contact them one by one with your offer.

You could try to become a vendor for a place like clickbank. For a decent percentage of the product price affiliates will sell for you. However, you need to have a good product that doesn't get a lot of returns or affiliates will drop you. You also so focus on products that are easier to promote and have a large audience.

Speaking as an affiliate, Clickbank is my absolute last choice. I have yet to find a clickbank product that really converts ... I'd much rather go to JVZoo or Warriorplus

Setup an "affiliate sign up" page, provide marketing tools for your affiliates, have a great sales letter, and list your page in the affiliate directories on the internet.

I would say join Clickbank and Paydotcom, but i don't think they allow "services" to be sold on their website.

Like anything else, the affiliates that you want are 5%.

In order to attract the best you need to have the highest converting pages and highest EPCs.

Then go out and find the ones driving the traffic. If its a niche then its usually easy to find.

Most good affiliates will find you if your offer is rockin it!

Has anyone had any experience in contacting bloggers who are authorities asking them to promote your product? Is there a 'right' way to approach them and build that relationship

I was thinking of just directly emailing bloggers with lots of readers, but i'm assuming i'm not the only person that's doing this and will need to stand out..

Yes, you will need stats to back up your claims.

If you're trying to get people to promote your stuff and you haven't had others do it or have any good data to show (to prove sales) then you're going to have a hard time.

We have an affiliate program we just started in the Real Estate industry. We have our own affiliate management software for our affiliates where they can track their referrals and also access to a variety of resources to help promote the product.

What other suggestions would you have for a new affiliate program? What tools are affiliates looking for? (banners, videos, emails etc?)

ClickBank is a privately held online marketplace for digital information products. It aims to serve as a connection between digital content creators (also known as vendors) and affiliate marketers, who then promote them to consumers

Anyway, don't expect affiliates to jump on your product and start promote it.
And before you create the product, make sure everything is stands by ClickBank terms.

A tip for those who are paying attention...

Simply listing your product in an affiliate program usually is not enough to attract the affiliates you want.

Also needed is some personal networking, and evidence (sales numbers) that shows affiliates that they can make money promoting your product.

If you're looking for an established way to get more affiliates for promote your product then the first thing you should make your own website.
To not use Blogger blog to advertise your product because this is not an effective method to go about things. You need your own website. With a website, you can direct your associates to your landing page and can further sell them on joining your affiliate program.
The second step should be getting a good product to promote. Your product should deal with the needs of the industry and should be something that individuals want to advertise. It's best if the product is something that you designed from the beginning, not a resale privileges product as a lot of individuals will have had it already.
The next step would be listed affiliated program in the affiliate directories. There are a ton of them out there, so you will want to list your program in as many as possible.

Another thing that should increase interest is if you put a popup on your site that specifically promotes your affiliate program. If the affiliate can just promote without purchasing the product, I'd be sure to include that as a bullet point, but in a more sophisticated fashion of course. The increase in optins from popups is 17%, which is huge, so why not try it in this application. Just a thought, all the best to you.

turning customers into affiliates rarely works

I prefer to recruit a JV broker who'd find me all the top affiliates in the niche, and make a deal, where I give 25% or whatever his asking fee, so I won't have to spend day and night scouring the web, giving emails or doing phone calls.

The advantage of a JV broker is that this guy probably knows half the market already, and he has built the required trust with top marketers in the field. Which I haven't.

What does decent means?

If you pay the "standard" 50% or even the more "juicy" 75% commission, that's not incredible in my opinion. Not many top dogs will find your aff. program appealing.

Why not turn "decent" into "amazing". You should give more, the maximum, if possible.

Do you have multiple products in the "Back-end" to pre-sell to your customers? That's where the hidden profit is. Think about it.

I have made a product which has converted well. So far I have had more than 300% ROI. I am scouring the internet to find affiliates and reading and receiving many good comments. 'You should not have any problem attracting affiliates' 'With that kind of return on your first investment....' Nothing but good comments. However, I still cannot find any affiliates. Where does one look?

To find affiliates for a product of yours, this is the most effective way. IMO

The best affiliates to look for are those that are already selling a similar product to yours.

Lets say you have created a new diet product, and you want to get affiliates on board to to help you sell it.

The easiest way to find affiliates who might have an interest in selling your product, is to look at your competition.

1...Go to Clickbank, and find say the top 3 diet products in the 'Health and Weight Loss' category.

2.. Get the back links that are pointing back to sale page of those sites.

3...Make a list of the back link URL's

4....In the majority of cases that list of URL's indicates all those sites have an interest in that product, and it's highly likely they are an affiliate for the product.

5...You can then craft a letter to the the site owners of those URL's offering them the opportunity to also sell your diet product.

As long as you have a quality product, they could be more than interested to make extra money selling your product also.

To me that is the quickest most effective way to find affiliates in a niche.

There is an automated way to do this, but I can't disclose it here

Pretty difficult.

First, you need a "home" for your content, and that's usually a website. Second, you need a place where to attract people to sign them up for emails.

But considering a .com domain name can be found for as low as $2, and that there's reliable free hosting, I don't see why you wouldn't want a website.

You can use the search box in this forum to get all kinds of ideas. The first thing you need to do if you want to get any worthwhile affiliates to promote for you is you need to show some earnings per clicks. You need to show that your product converts. Without this data your not going to get any affiliates that can make sales for you.

What I personally would do is setup a affiliate page and promote that page with ppc & fb ads..

If you look at huge launches that what the most successful marketers do..

Step 1: Promote your own offer as an affiliate...
Step 2: Track your affiliate EPC not how much you make as the advertiser.
Step 3: Meet mid-level affiliates and show them your EPC.
Step 4: If the offer converts, word will spread naturally because most affiliates like to brag about their EPC's.

You can create a case study ad on facebook, targeting affiliates to get them to promote your offer. Most super affiliates won't promote your offer unless it's beneficial for them, so your offer has to convert. Most want to see at least a $1 EPC for it to make sense to mail.

There are other ways... offer them a CPA for each sale on top of their affiliate commission, or pay for a mailing on their list but use their affiliate link when you mail. If they get a good epc... and the free money from your promo, they'll def return the favor.

Go to clickbank... find people with products. Most have a list. Promote for them and ask them to return the favor. Or you could also swap with other vendors so you form strategic partnerships.

By this way you may find many affiliates who are interested to promote your product or service.

Popular networks are Cj, Share a Sale, Linkshare, Clickbank.
