Would You Use a Free or Low Price WSO for PLR Store List Building?

In considering the two choices of listing either a freebie WSO with opt-in required to obtain a free article pack, or selling it at a very low price (say $1) which one would be your choice if the main objective of the WSO is to build your email list for marketing your PLR store products to the list?

On the one hand, the free offer may attract more opt-ins (because it's free), but on the other, maybe even the small price being paid for the paid offer could indicate you are building more of a buyer's list?

Interested in seeing other Warrior's thoughts on the subject.

Thanks.

Why not do both, then you'll have your answer. At $40 per WSO that's a cheap and controllable test wouldn't you agree? Much better than spending $100 on PPC and getting no where.

Create immense value... in fact, so much value you have to really think twice before hitting the submit button on your WSO to let it go for just $1 and/or free.

This is why I would do both... Release your free one first and promote your $1 or $5 one on the back of the first one. Get some seed money together from your low-cost, high-value launch to test other forms of advertising as well.

      Mike's on point.

Layer the offer so you can weed out the freebie seekers from the customers.
Using a sales funnel is always a good idea in my book - and I'm sure you understand the value since you asked the question in the first place.

Also.. Be sure you're tracking your results.

Sometimes people who seem to be "freebie seekers" are really potential customers that didn't like the way you presented the information/offer. ;-)

It can be hard to accurately split-test WSOs since you can't have more than one for the same product at the same time, but do what you can.

It's worth it every time in my book!

      Cheers,
      -Adrian

@Mike Hill, I agree. It's really easy that way especially when we are very new to the forum. Thanks.

I'd agree with Mike Hill and say you should test it for yourself to see which is best.

My own personal experience is that a list built on buyers (even if it's a low priced product) is much more responsive than a list built on a free PLR. However, the lowest I usually price is $4.95 so a $1 price point might bring different results.

Jay, this was a predicament of mine only weeks ago. These were the results of my opt-ins (free WSO vs. $1 WSO): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...tudy-mine.html

But remember, what works for me may not work you and vice-versa.

I agree with Mike, you should test out and see what suits you best. However, always make sure the content is high quality, don't compromise your quality even if you're giving out a free/low price WSO.
