Well, stap me vitals, my first $100 day!

I suppose I had better do the customary post and "thanks to the Warrior Forum" (genuinely) for what turns out to be my first $100 day the other day. Well, more like $120 or something.

I know it's quite easy to hit $100 days (and far more) with product launches and whatnot, but this is JUST "passive" income, i.e. I didn't have to do anything EXTRA that day to earn it, which is kind of the Holy Grail for most new IMs, I think.

It's taken me several years to get this far, particularly because I have never been full-time IM, it's more of a "sideline", I guess (and I will always keep eggs in other baskets). But also it took me joining WF a year or so ago - WHY didn't I do that before!? - to start understanding how to be consistent and start thinking of IM as a business. I am particularly bad with jumping from one thing to another, in life generally, not just IM.

I suppose you want to know how I did it, well, I wish I had some "method" to share with you, but the truth is, although I did not have to do anything THAT day to reach that level of earnings, it was the result of many months, and even years of hard work and learning. Like I told you, I just can't resist mixing it up and trying different things, so my earnings are a combination of:
  • sale of own product/s
  • Adsense
  • affiliate products (Clickbank, EPN, etc. etc.)
... oh and probably a few other things, I forget now

If I can share something from my experience - yes, you DEFINITELY do NOT want to do like I have done and get involved in a zillion different things online, but I feel it IS a good idea to put your eggs in several baskets, so you do not get hit by the next set of regulations/Google algorithms/etc. etc. and so you have more chance of succeeding.

If I could start again I would probably
  • build ONE very good, authority niche site to monetise with Adsense or affiliate products (not in IM preferably)
  • develop ONE very good product, also not necessarily in IM and then gradually work on developing back-end products

And I would probably leave it at that - you can EASILY make a full-time income doing those things with not TOO much work, and a lot of fun, hopefully.

But I do so love trying different things... sigh...

Thanks WF once again for being such a great place to learn!

See you at my first $1000 day

Ha, thanks, yeah, that ought to be an awesome cake, but you know what it's like, you get to $1000 and you start thinking, hey, that's not such a big deal, I can do more than that

    $100 days are easy

The trick is to keep 'em coming day after day...

    Just my two cents.

Well, that's what I mean - if I ran a WSO or something obviously that would be easily achievable, but I am talking here about purely "passive" income. That takes some scaling of what I am doing now, but now I know what I have to do.

You know, people say, stick at it, scale up, take action, etc. etc. But there is also a kind of element of luck, where you finally find the approach (or more than one) that's just right for you and that actually 'works' for you - that is usually your own unique twist on what other people are doing. There just is no "one-size-fits-all" "system" for earning from IM, sometimes it can take a while just to "get it". A lot of people give up before then, though.

You should SEE some of the rubbish I came up with before I started understanding the business better - I spent WEEKS coding websites that would never go anywhere, that kind of thing. This forum is a great resource because you really can see what's 'working' for others and try to adapt that for your own needs, personality, capacities etc.

        First off, great job!

Next, this post alone is golden....There are so many ways to make money online and yet we need to start with those methods that resonate well with our skill sets and preferences. Then it's all about taking action and tweaking it as we proceed. So often our greatest successes come from twists that we come up with along the way!

Get yourself a mentor and follow a blueprint that is proven, and don't keep jumping from one thing to another, find something and stick at it until it makes you money...scale it up...rinse and repeat.

      Hope this helps

Weeeeell, I would just would be repeating things that have been said a million times, but in short:

      - create sites with quality content that answer people's questions, preferably around a topic that attracts a lot of Adwords advertisers - monetise with eBay listings, Adsense, affiliate products etc. Get them ranked mostly by virtue of their good content.

      - create a product that solves a problem people have, or helps them achieve something they want to achieve. Underprice it! Create an affiliate program, get word out, etc. etc. Provide great support.

Honestly, there is nothing that hasn't been said already many times on this great forum. Like I said, you just have to find the approach that works fort you, with your own twist.

Oh man, "on the side" is right - with a small child climbing all over me, and an offline business to run too. Oh and 10 hours or more mountain-bike training a week at peak times of the year I sometimes wish I could go full-time with IM, but I just love doing different stuff way too much!

Ah, well, just remember, it's unlikely $1 will satisfy you, though it's nice to get those first pennies It's not a bad idea to aim a LITTLE higher than that, actually!

The thing about earning that first $1 is that it really needs to happen in such a way that you KNOW how you achieved it and what you need to do to scale it up - that it's part of some greater plan. See what I mean?

If you earn your first $1 just off some random Adsense click, then that's not really a sustainable business because it isn't going anywhere, it's almost the same as luck. But have a plan, and keep at it, and the $1 mark ought to come and go VERY quickly!

Congratulations! I do agree it can take just one authority website to take you off and feeling like superman .... but why just do one when you can do 100 of them? What I can tell you from here on out, is that it will only keep getting better! Enjoy your earnings and expand quickly from that!

Agreed - actually authority sites by my definition take quite a long while to get going, in the order of months, but it IS scalable, just a case of perfecting the process and not turning it into another spammy method. Definitely an avenue I will be continuing down in future, especially as writing content is a forte of mine.

Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes all the info. out there is so overwhelming! Very many crooks and very few good guys. And then, when you get the good guys like those I've heard on this forum WA, Ryan Moran, Google Sniper, there's so much information to take in. WA seems to be my best bet now since most other affiliates mentioned are members and they give it good ratings only, there's so much information! It's scary just thinking about paying for a sign-up.
