I think updates are bit passé now. Google is constantly tweaking to give users the most relevant info and kicking marketers in the process, yes you can still game the serps but you’re better off putting out decent content that keeps people on your sites.

      Mike,

This could well be the most true snippet found on the WF. None of my sites have been hurt by this newest whatever. You know why?

Because I have always optimized my sites the same way I have articles .. title .. first sentence .. about 1% thereafter .. as close to the last words in the last sentence as possible. I sometimes get wild and name images but that is more for image search than anything.

This simple formula has worked since the first time I did it and still works today ... and I don't even use Google tools or site maps.

No haven't heard of it. Is that where all of our sites disappear down into Google's enormous rabbit hole?

No, you have it mixed up...

      First Panda, then Rabbit.

      Then the Walrus.

      Then Dinosaur and Dodo.

      Keep it straight....:p

I think if Google had a Rabbit update it would be as big as this...

All jokes aside, although Google is definitely changing their search algo all the time, I think they are really rolling out another big change now.

secret source revealed today. Code named Rabbit, the update will apparently be able to effectively detect whether or not a bald person is searching the web
I would doubt the effectiveness of Google's ability "to effectively detect" (split infinitive :p) this, since it recently told me it thought I was "male and 65+".

    Epic fail

    btw - "white rabbits"
