Try animoto and/or proshow producer. They are both great software.

Obviously it depends on your goals, so a little more info might help.

Is it live footage with text overlays? Animation? PowerPoint capture? That kind of stuff. Because for certain needs you might want heavier editing software like Sony Vegas. Otherwise Animoto might suit you best for quick video work, although I would suggest shelling out for their more expensive bundles.

Windows Movie Maker does quite a fair job if you have a creative eye as well. It all depends on your goals. Work backwards and ask yourself what you want your video to look like when all is done. Then pick your software.

But don't do what I've done and get caught up in the details of editing, making things perfect etc. I'm nerdy so I like exploring and learning everything I can. But that wastes time and doesn't make money.

So define your video (for you and us if you care) then work backwards.

It all depends on what you are trying to do. I would be happy to provide software recommendations based on what you actually want to accomplish. I've used nearly everything out there at some point.

Animoto is useful for some things, but completely useless to my needs.

Camtasia is great for some things, but good luck trying to do anything complex with it.

After Effects is perfect for over-the-top productions but is a huge pain for most simple things.

    ...and so on...

I can make the video's fine, but sadly I struggle with good wording. Being rather new to marketing it is taking time to get my message across clearly in a short video. Any copy experts about?

I just read a great info product by Jason Fladlien called "video mystic". He teaches how to create pro quality videos by outsourcing the whole process.

In general, I find videos don't convert very well for info products. but for plugins apparently the conversions are higher (but that is just a demo video).

You don't need expensive software and equipments.

You have to focus on providing value to the viewers. The "how to tutorial" style video do very well.

You may want to look into outsourcing this if you don't already know how to make a video. I'm not saying you shouldn't learn because it's a great skill to have, but depending on what you are planning to make it can be very time consumming when you aren't already skilled in it. You can usually find someone to outsource it pretty cheap. I think there are even a few on here that do it. Check the warriors for hire section.

it all depends what your using the video for, but i agree animoto is pretty slick for putting together a professional video for marketing.

Otherwise you can outsource the video production, just make sure you give a clear structure on what your looking for.

I have been using Proshow Gold or a combination of Powerpoint/Camtasia or Powerpoint/Windows Movie Maker to make videos. For a video camera I still use my old Flip Video Camera. With these combinations I can make any type of video I need.

It's nearly the same exact combination I use for my YouTube video production except I use Mino Flip, Greenscreen Wizard for removing the green screen and Camtasia for video production.

        Can't go wrong! ;-)
