Hi, sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section, admin feel free to move wherever it belongs but I have a simple question about links. I am wanting to make a list of links that is clickable. I want to copy and paste the links but how do I make it clickable? the only way I can find is using MS Word and making into a link which would take way too long for a big list so is there an easier way to just copy and paste and keep it or make it clickable? Thanks Guys (and gals) -Mike Patrick

    Mike,

Get a good text editor. I recommend Some version of NoteTab, which you can get at Award-Winning NoteTab Text Editors and HTML Editors

Load the list into the editor, one per line, no blank lines between them. Make sure each URL includes the http://www.

Put the cursor on the first space of the first line, and use the Find and Replace function. (Ctrl-R)

In the Find space, put: ^P

    In Replace, put: "> </a><br>^P<a href="

Tell it to replace all. When it's done (probably close to instantly), fix the links on the first and last lines. Then put in the name of each site where the space is, and you're done. The list will be properly formatted HTML, with a single link per line.

That's a handy text editor trick. ^P is the character for the hard carriage return (pressing the enter key.) Anything you put before it goes at the end of the line, and anything you put after it goes at the beginning of the next line.
