How Do I protect my work?

I have several reports out there, one would think a guy like me would know the answer to this by now, but what is a system of protecting your work?

Paying the mob?

I mean your download pages...

    The short answer: you can't. The longer answer is: you can protect it from *some* people, but not all. You can for example use a service like eJunkie, which lets you limit customers to five download attempts. However, this would not stop someone from sharing your report with 50 million of his best friends through a filesharing service. You can also stamp your report (there are several WP plugins that do this). This means that when someone buys a report from you, it gets their name and address automatically added on every page. However, someone who is determined can use a PDF editing program to remove your stamping. You can also disable editing by way of a password, however there are programs that will break the pw.

    So bottom line, there are things you can do to cut down on people's ability to steal your stuff, but there is nothing to be done which will completely stop this from happening.

    Im asking because I have a paid list...but there are twice the amount of people on the email list as there are people who paid... Now if I send free reports to my paid list that I would normally charge for , a couple hundred people are going to get all products for free, even though they didnt pay to be on the list.
