Do You Sell Luxury Items?

Is anyone out there having success selling things like Luxury Watches, Baths, Clothes, Jewellery etc.

The search volume for the stuff im interested in tend to be really low typically under 200 exact per month (UK).

I'm thinking that even though search volume is low the conversions may be fairly high due to the product being quite specific.

I'm going ahead with my plan anyway because everyones luck is different but still would appreciate some positive comments to know if it was worth it for you.

One of my relatives sells those. He averages about 5 luxury watches per month, and is able to make a killing by that.

I haven't really asked him how he does that.

Do you know any places to get affiliated to those luxury item producers/drop-shippers?

I wouldn't say Amazon has 'luxury' stuff, but there are some pretty expensive watches and jewlerry (spelling?) on there.

Without giving away my main niche that I am building, I do have a few different things that could be considered "luxury". Searches are a lot higher than those items though.

(I'm assuming we consider "luxury" as something not needed and over, say $500?)

What about hot tubs that would be a high ticket item...

There are several effective marketing techniques that are powerful for especially the higher end products such as solo ads, email, article marketing, social networks, and even offline direct mail, classified advertising, magazine ads, telemarketing, multi-media, direct sales etc. I don't know of anyone successfully selling luxury items beyond the 4-5 figure range using "review sites". There may be a telling marketing reason for relatively low search volume on otherwise well-selling products.

So I was just on Amazon, and saw jewelry being sold for 28k. And then I thought, would someone really buy something that expensive online?

    Any concerns here?

You'd be surprised. And also, bear in mind that Amazon wouldn't waste space with products that don't sell.

If they have products that expensive listed on their site then chances are it is because they sell.

I actually saw 5-7 such listings of products above $15k, and none of them had a review. So, I thought that no one will buy this online man..

Just because a product doesn't have a review doesn't mean it hasn't been purchased.

Although, don't get me wrong - I do believe that very few people would spend that kind of money online. It could be an exposure/brand building technique for some businesses perhaps?

However, not sure that Amazon would accept a product and keep it in their listings if it's never sold. I'm not an expert but I'm assuming they have some sort of cut-off in terms of how long a product can be listed without selling?

The number of reviews is no indication at all of demand or how many products are sold. Such products without reviews actually do sell quite well, and in fact really are being successfully promoted by Amazon affiliates.

If a product has a best sellers rank it means that it has been sold at least once.

I have a few sites in the 'watch' niche. One of my more successful Amazon sites specifically sells $X,XXX luxury watches. Even with only around 50 uniques per day, I make regular sales from that site. It's neato-burrito seeing those $XXX commissions add up in your account...I've been sitting quietly on the sidelines for awhile just plucking away at that low hanging fruit!

I'm not worried you'll find my specific niche - Even if you did, I know my content is better than yours would be

Of course, I HIGHLY recommend you first focus on the high volume niches as opposed to high price niches. You want to sell a lot of really cheap stuff instead of a few expensive things, because by the time you get to the luxury items you really want to hit 8% commission every month.

I am in the luxury yacht chartering business where the average weekly charter sells for about $20,000 for 6 guests. An awesome vacation in the Bahamas or Virgin Islands.

Research a company thats #1 on Google for on of your keywords, or even a keyword that has more searches that you don't intend to use. See what they are doing.

I did a quick search and they are all doing heavy article marketing. At least the ones I saw were.

People do buy high value items online. Myself included. We're impatient lazy humans when it comes to shopping. If we can do it online, we will.

I noticed keywords for stuff like "Best place to buy Rolex online" too. Those people want to buy online. Sell it to them.

Not sure where you get your commissions though. You'd probably have to strike a deal with a reputable seller. You're going to need the traffic before you do that though.
