Attention: All Newbie Marketers!!!!

Hey Warriors,

As a newbie to IM what are your biggest challenges online?

What do you feel holds you back the most?

For me the biggest challenge was information overload. Not having the funds to pay for coaching and information products.

What are your frustrations and struggles?

Looking forward to hearing from you

One of my biggest problems when I started was that I was TOO eager.

I wanted to try every form of internet marketing, instead of focusing one or two things that were actually going to get me results.

Heck, I still do it now.

I think my advice to newbies would be to establish exactly what you want to do and stick to it. Don't get drawn in by WSO's promising to give you $1,000,000 in a year. Frankly, that's not going to happen.

Set realistic goals, and make sure you meet them.

I really wish I could afford coaching - hopefully I will be able to soon.

Luckily, I'm finally starting to establish what I want to do as far as IM goes, which is a good thing.

But to all the newbies out there; be realistic, set achievable goals, and most importantly, don't give up!

When I was first starting the hardest thing for me was sorting past all the hype and finding the real truth among all the scams out there.

It honestly took me a while to find out what really worked and what didn't, there is just so much bad information out there.

My best advise for newbies would be to start small, find an area of IM that they want to go into such as: list building, adsense sites, affiliate sites, etc... and just pick ONE

If you focus on one thing at first you will slice through the hype fast and get to the real meat of it

The fact is there IS REAL MONEY to be made in IM. You just have to now where to find it.

The biggest hurdle for newbies is the crap out here that everyone is trying to get you to buy.The so called gurus have mastered the art of deception.

The hype is usually BS so you must be able to say no and think things through.
Do not be swayed by time limits to buy, rising prices, only 5 left etc.

Ask yourself one question if this really works so damn good then why would someone share the information with all these people?

Just look at the WSO's a lot of them have not been used or tested by the people selling it.

I'm also a newbie and feel your pain. Good way to think of it as a right of passage I guess. I have confidence though if I work hard this will pass.

I'm disabled and have little money so I know how that feels as well. I have been researching members and contacting them trying to find someone that would be willing to offer a internship. I would work for them free of charge doing things they don't want to do in exchange for knowledge learned on the job. Most havent wrote back so I haven't had any luck but that might change. Maybe this is something you can try.

    1. Website design the tech stuff, 2. Writing my grammar is horrible, 3. Ideas I don't have any for a new website. I have the time, and money to create but im out of ideas. So I will just keep learning. Then when i get a good idea i can put it in motion.

      1. WordPress is very newbie friendly and you can easily make a website with it. It doesn't have to be a blog.

      2. You can always outsource articles at places like iWriter. You can get get high quality articles for a very cheap price.

      3. What do you mean by ideas? Ideas for products, or how you want to go about establishing yourself in the IM world?

    Lack of Time...

Aside from handling some Clickbank / Adsense Sites, I also handle major SEO and marketing projects from other webmasters. I was able to bring several competitive keywords of my employers to number 1 position in Google, but I can't do it on my own sites... pathetic if you ask me =)

Yes, I am earning some money handling other people's businesses, and I am 100% sure that they are profiting big from those #1 keywords I have worked hard to reach (which are all product keywords in markets such as fashion, mental health, babies, etc). But I have little time left to handle my own sites after working on my employer's sites, so I think there lies my biggest challenge.

      You are talking about newbies.
PPC takes money which most of them do not have.
Tell the rest of the story about PPC.

You spend $10,000 to make $12,000 and that's if you are in the right place with the right items.

I have seen more people lose their ass with PPC.
Cpa is only as good as the network you work with.
Most networks will screw you out of your profits on the backend.
Most skim your profits without your knowledge.

There is an easier way to make money online stay tuned

I am part of a free 30 day coaching program now that has provided the most support I have ever seen online, its 24/7 support. There is not one time I have now found someone to help me with what i need to do.

So Guidance I would say is the biggest issue.

When I first started it was the wealth of knowledge and opportunity out there. I didn't really know where to start, which opportunity would best suit my lifestyle and my goals.

I was able to become so successful so quick because I just focused on a few key areas.

What could I sell, who could I sell it to, and how could I reach them for free using the internet.

So I decided to sell info products as an affiliate, by sending traffic to a squidoo lens with ezine articles.

I made almost $300 my very first week, and I reinvested every penny and made almost $3,000 my first month. It wasn't to long after that I had my first $10,000 month.

It's important to know that all effective business models can be brought down to those 3 simple rules.

    1. Something to sell, 2. people to sell it to, 3. a way to reach them

No matter how you have to do it, it can all fall into these 3 things. be consistent in your efforts, don't give up if you make a mistake learn from it and move on.

If you do buy coaching or a wso or something, make sure not to completely change your business model but add what you can from it to improve on your current business model.

For example if you are selling info products and you buy an ebook that teaches you how to make money selling antiques on eBay, don't just stop what you are doing.

See if there is anything from that business model you can use to improve your own, even if it's just a small little nugget on pricing strategy or something.

I'm in a similar situation as you are. Although, these would be my top 2 tips:

    1. Go after one specific area on IM and focus on it.
    2. Don't waste tons of money on things you think you need. If you can do it yourself, DON'T buy.

My two problems are: Information Overload and GOOGLE.

I've bought so many WSOs in the past and read through them. There was too much information, I don't know where to start/1

Next is Google... I really hate it when they just de-index and de-rank sites and videos ... Its like you work hard to get your rankings up and then in a blink of an eye, your rank's gone. It's very upsetting.

I personally think there are always two fundamental problems that I call the curse of the newbie. I know, as these are the ones that hit me when I was new as well.

1.) Shiny Object Syndrome - The ability to convince ourselves that this new program is the answer to our nightmare in internet marketing. Whether that be email marketing, traffic generation in general, or the multitude of other things newbies think they cannot do, but can with a good mentor.

2.) Information Overload - Let's face facts, info overload is fantastic to us, when we first start online, we are all eager to make the million overnight, so we throw ourselves into our new program, or software with gusto, only to find we need more pieces of the puzzle to become proficient at making money online.

Once we realise these two problems are our downfall, the ones who have the belief and will to win, are the ones who begin to realise that like an offline business, online marketing is a business, and needs to be treated as such.

    Anyway that is my thought,

    Take Care,

    Paul Power.

It seems to me the problems a newbie faces are, one, the super gurus are selling themselves and the potatoes of their knowledge and not the meat, and two, good coaching (which is really needed ) is too expensive to someone just starting out with no real extra money to spend.

Lack of a clear goal and idea of how to get there

definitely technical stuff remains the most difficult and finding real explanations of how, but also why, to do something

I hear all this stuff about sales funnels, squeeze pages, list building, landing pages, buy buttons etc etc and I have read and seen excellent training on the concepts, the business model and the mind map and I have got it. I just can't build it and don't have the money to pay someone else to build it

Somebody could make a fortune selling "click by click" training videos that you can follow along to create everything you need.

It's alright people saying "you can outsource" all the tasks but that all takes money and that is the problem so I want to be able to do it myself
