Sorry for the autoresponder newbie question but...

This forum has finally made me consider creating lists.

Here is my question(s)

Do you set up messages so that message one goes out when the person signs up, then message two...
So no matter when a person signs up, they will still receive message one then two?
Sorry if that is confusing. I was thinking about starting a membership site and using an autoresponder to send out the weekly content, but I need it to start with message one, for each person who signs up. If some one signs up 4 weeks after person A, I dont want them to receive week 4's content...see what I am saying?

Question 2

Can I have three or four different lists on one autoresponder? Like, if I had a mailing list, plus two membership plans. Could I have three different lists going, without paying for three autoresponders?

Sorry for the newbie questions.

1.Yes you can do sequenced mailings, and also broadcast mailings.
2.Yes most allow unlimited lists on one account.

To make it as simple as possible - use a service like Email Marketing Software, Email Newsletters and Autoresponders by AWeber - don't try creating your own! They take care of all the double-opt in and anti spam stuff for you - they even give you a REALLY simple way to create signup forms on their website. Then you just load up your emails, put the form on your page and get on with your marketing!

      1. Yes. If person one subscribes on 1st, he will receive message1 and 2.
Samway person two subscribed on 5th, still he receives message1 and then2. No matter when they subscribe, emails go the way you set up.

      2. If you have your own inhouse autoresponder, you can create unlimited autoresponders with unlimited subscribers. If you are going for third party service, they will charge you based on number of subscribers, I think.
