Would you buy a turnkey site?

So I'm new to IM. I'm in the process of building an authority site (long term investment.) It's taking a while, as it should. It's a lot of work, but I'm focused on completing it.

But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a little starter revenue until the main site is up and running. What do you guys think about turnkey sites? I'm looking around on flippa and there are a few niche sites all set up and ready to go I could buy for just a hundred bucks or more. The sites look good, the domain matches a highly searched keyword. On paper it looks great. But I wonder why someone would be selling it so cheaply if it could be such a profitable venture? And if turnkey sites really did work, wouldn't they get snatched up instantly?

I haven't purchased any from Flippa, but purchased a number of sites off Ebay and some other places in the past. Some I kept for awhile and some I turned around and resold them for a quick profit.
There are many people that just design sites and then turn around and resell them for a quick profit on Flippa and other places. That is all they do, they are not into SEO and all the other stuff.

There are many people(especially newbies) that will snatch up some of the good turnkey sites, but generally most will not know what to do with it once they get it.

My answer would be yes to you if you know SEO, how to get traffic, and can at least generate enough profit to cover your cost in a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah I build and sell turnkey websites on Flippa and many people like me create these sites(get traffic and revenue), then turn around and sell them. I create sites for a hobby and I find it much easier to sell the sites then actually keep the sites up to date and also that would cause me to have many jobs and responsiblites.

Many people that I sold turnkey sites too, will just turn around and sell the site again for more of a profit. Yes, turnkey sites are already done for you and ready to make you money but you always have to remember that you must work hard to keep revenue and traffic steady.

I always say to try it out, you might be able to turn around and resell the site for more than what you bought it for.
