Hey guys, how do YOU track website traffic and the amount of clicks you get on your affiliate links?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm still a little undecided on what THE BEST WAY is to go about doing this... I know there is Google Analytics, bit.ly (for tracking clicks) etc...

But that's it... I can't think of more at the moment. (It's too early in the morning :p)

I'd still love to hear what tracking tools you guys are using, paid or free, doesn't really matter.

But I prefer a paid solution over free and need a tool which will get me the most accurate results!!

It's awesome to see someone from the Netherlands. My father is Dutch and I intend to visit one day.. :-P

More on topic...

I use AWeber, G. Analytics and that free thing from Wordpress.com via the jetpack plugin to double check against other sources.

If you're directing traffic to someone else's website in your affiliate links, it can be helpful to redirect through a site that you own. (If you're not already doing this see an example here: Wholesale Suppliers for eBay | SaleHoo )

There are quite a few open source analytics softwares out there which you may want to look into as well.

If you're really keen on accuracy using a couple different measures simultaneously won't hurt. :-P

Try extremetracking.com to track daily clicks and referrer. if you're using wordpress platform use try this also Simple URLs plugin (Simple URLs is a complete URL management system that allows you create, manage, and track outbound links from your site by using custom post types and 301 redirects.)

There's the free opensource analytics software called Piwik. I haven't used it but have heard some good reports. find it here http://piwik.org/

piwik is most def better than google analytics. also be sure to always use subids for your aff links

I use rank reporter from Inspyder. Its a great piece of software that lets you keep track of rankings. Always manages to be spot on and gives you a history of ranking positions.

I'm a big fan of Piwik - I use it on most of my sites for one simple reason - I'm paranoid about Google learning too much about my sites.

They already know too much, and since Google is the gorilla in the room, I think it's only common sense not to irritate the gorilla. (or feed it too much).

For tracking my outbound links, I use the Prettylink Wordpress plugin - although Piwik can do this too - Prettylink also 'hides' my affiliate links.
