In most cases.. it's a farse.

It's a tactic used for a high pressure sale atmosphere.

Unless of course you're talking about the... "Live in: 0:02:14:32" type count-down timers for a product launch or something - those are to create anticipation and generate a bit of buzz. :-P

    Cheers,
    -Adrian

PS: if you're asking how to make it happen on your own site... quickly do a search for "count down timer html" or "php" or "BB" or.. whatever you're using. It's pretty straight forward once you have the code to copy and paste onto your site.

PPS: Your signature is ... awkward to read as it is.

Warning!!!If You Care You Your Internet Marketing Business You Must Read It!!..Click Here To see what mistake Did An Internet Millionaire Made...and how he get ruined..!!!

You might get better results with this:

"WARNING: If you care about your Internet Marketing Business, you'll want to read this!
Click Here to see how to avoid a very costly mistake even this Millionaire Marketer made."

I hope that's still in line with what you wanted to convey.

    Cheers!

    They're using lot's of Scarcity.

And you can find the timer doing a search in Google for timedown hmtl code or timedown javascript code.

It's just a marketing technique to give people a sense of urgency to take action.

I often wonder how a digital product can have "limited" quantity.

      But they DO.

My last WSO was limited to 50 copies - and you can bet it was REALLY that limited. Never sold it again.

Yes, they don't require paper, but the amount of information that's there could be worth a lot, hence being limited to only a few buyers. I hope I got that one right.
