Hosting with vanity name servers?

Hi

I am currently on a shared hosting account with webhostingpad.com. While I do find their hosting to be quite reliable I would like the ability to further brand myself by setting up vanity name servers. Sadly, they do not offer this feature for their shared hosting clients and have disabled the DNS zone editor on their shared hosting cpanel.

Does anyone use a good shared hosting provider that allows you to use the DNS zone editor to set up your own vanity name servers? I have read that many shared hosts allow this and would love some recommendations!

    If you buy a Hostgator Reseller account ($25/mo) you can setup vanity nameservers. Any hosting account that gives you access to WHM should allow this.

    Vanity name servers can be setup with most shared hosting plans e.g. HostGator, WebHostingHub, InMotionHosting. I'm glad to hear you are happy with webhostingpad. I personally have been experiencing down times on a weekly basis. So I have removed all my sites except for a couple non-important ones from my plan with them. You must be on a better shared server then me...

    Vanity name servers do NOTHING to BRAND your product or yourself... That is pure BUNK! Whoever told you differently lied to you! NO ONE looks to the name servers to see if they are branded to the product. Are you smoking good green with a doctors note??? hahahaha

      Hmmmm by "brand" I simply mean that it looks a heck of a lot more professional to see ns1.mydomain.com on a whois search than to see ns1.mywebhostsdomain.com ... and no I don't touch the green stuff unless green tea counts?

    You want private nameservers. Any host offering reseller hosting would be able to provide you with these.

      Why the hell would you want to brand your hosting? Thats a bit far for me. Personally i think it'd be a waste of money. If i was doing a whois search on a website then i wouldn't be any further impressed if they had there own nameserver, in fact it'd raise concerns as i'd know that they know a heck of a lot about IM.

      From my experience nobody outside of IM/serious IT pro's know much about servers in general, let alone whois searches.
