Good morning WF,

I just intercepted this post on Facebook - it's all about how a business owner decided to try Groupon to see how much response they would get, and let's just say... they got more than they bargained for.

Yeah, people really need to read the fine print before diving into things. haha. If they simply would have a set a limit on how many deals they could sell, things would have worked out ok.

I think that is really a groupon rarity.

The overall point though, is correct. TOO much business CAN BE BAD if you don't have systems in order and prepared to handle everything. I don't think the bakery owner could have ever imagined it would lead to that many orders, it's rather shocking in fact.

It happens with my web design and marketing company. It's always a matter of adjusting and tweaking operations. We get bombarded with sales, too the point we don't even try selling anymore until we're making progress but the sales continue to roll in. Of course, the extra business is always nice, but it really goes to show you your flaws once you have a big rush like that. The best thing you can do is learn from it, adjust, and hope you handle it better next time!
