Freelancer.com for Graphic Design? Worth it?

I have a close friend of mine, and I wanted to know if Freelancer.com is good to get earning some money from graphic design, product ads, ebook covers and more? I Always thought that there was a lot of scams on freelancer.com and it`s hard to get the jobs that they are posting? but I don`t have any experience with that site! Any help would be awesome thank you.

    Why not post your friends graphic design services here? Maybe even Fiverr, yes you only get paid $5 but if he puts out really good work that clients like then he could easily move them away from Fiverr to pay him directly at higher prices.

    Nah, don't do fiverr.. I don't think that's worth the bucks <-- IMO , unless it's a relatively simple design..

    Freelancer.com does have a lot of scammers but when you are bidding on a project make sure that that client wants to work through freelancer.com and that he is willing to make an advance payment. You could also enter the graphic designing contests there. true there is a lot of competition but the pay out is big.

    Just wanna share one thing.

    If you just want some simple graphic designs such as ebook covers, you should do the design by yourself.

    Just go to google.com and search for some "photoshop action scripts".

    When I started, my budget was very tight so I couldn't afford to outsource the graphic design. I did a lot of search on the Internet and finally I found great photoshop action scripts. Now I have very nice ebook covers.

    I think it is better to join Fiver first as there is a ton of traffic there. Of Course for just $5, start out by doing simple designs and not a complicated ones. Your friend can provide add-on services to your gig for +$10 or +$20 after he/she have gain enough positive reviews for more monetary gains. Your friend can also add your own website's url under your profile so that the people interested in your service can go to his/her website directly and contact your friend if they need other service related to web design. Just my 2 cents.
