Advertising On Warrior Forum homepage

I'm trying to advertise a banner on WF homepage and have read all the rules i.e only black and blue writing, under 10kb in size etc but when I upload mine it just stays as 'pending' and never gets approved?

I have tried several times and waited days and days but nothing ever happens?

Just to clarify when I upload the banner there is a drop down menu saying $100 (1 day) available but my problem seems to be the approval of the actual banner?

Is there something I am missing or do you just have to wait and wait? Any help or insight would be appreciated on this matter.

If I'm just being impatient then I apologise

Same experience here for me. I guess they are booked solid
because I see the same ads running all the time.

    That's my guess.

Yep same adds all the time.

As far as I know its first come first served when the slots become available but if you never get the banner approved you never even get a chance at a slot?

Could a mod maybe clarify this for us please?

Right there Allen stated very clearly that "If the banner goes beyond ugly it will not be accepted"

I don't know, but maybe you might want to re-design your banner ad again <-- I'm just saying

Maybe it's for your own good too, who knows.. after you re-design it, the conversion rate will be better

    Cheers,
    Jeremiah

    P.S. No offence

As far as I understand it has nothing to do with ad design
or acceptance. It's just a matter of getting a slot. Seems
to be very competitive at the moment.

It's quite simple. It's all about demand.

There are only 10 spots available each day. The mods will only ever approve new banners if any of those 10 spots become available and don't get snapped up by someone who already has an approved banner. So if one banner finishes and no one takes it up, it's likely the mods will then go and approve the next banner in line. When this happens you basically need to be at your computer to pay and activate it right away or someone else is likely to take your spot. It's just the name of the game.

As you have probably noticed there are a lot of the same people advertising each and every day. They know exactly when their banner went live so they know exactly when to sit by on their computer and reactivate their banner after the 24 hour period. So it makes it very hard for someone new to get one of those spots if the advertisers who already have them want to keep using them.

I have advertised there a number of times. Yes, it does take a little persistence to get those spots and yes they were beneficial to me. But the amount of time it took me to play around and get those spots was not worth the payoff so I don't do much advertising there anymore.

If you can be bothered then definitely give it a test but so long as there are other people reactivating their banners most days, it will take you a while to get a new spot. When you think about it, it's much easier for the mods to just have the same people advertising each day as well as it means less maintenance for them.

I already had those problems too.

If you check the ad space closely, you will see a text "View all" and there you can see all the live ads. I count only 6. If available slots are 10 and the problem is too much competition, its was not normal that right now there is only 6 running, right?

Sorry but i think this is not normal.

This simply means some ads have finished and either they will be snapped up fairly quickly by others who already have approved banners, if that doesn't happen, the mods will probably approve some new banners for those spots. But they can't be online 24/7 so sometimes this type of situation will happen.

2 days ago i checked and the same number of ads were running... How many days they have to rebuy the ad until the mods choose another one?

EDIT: Ok, now we have 12...

I'm aware this is an old thread, but the question keeps coming up, so...

Will has pretty well summed it up, but there are some occasional issues that aren't mentioned which he couldn't have known about.

There's only one person, as far as I know, who ever approves banners. If he's unavailable, or unable to access the net for some reason, you may see a smaller number of banners rotating more frequently.

Also, and this is "speculation" based on what I understand of the process, if a banner goes too long without having been approved, it won't be. Even if there's an available slot and the banner is within the guidelines, it wouldn't make sense to approve it days after it was uploaded. The member is unlikely to be waiting for the approval note at that point, and could have passed some internal deadline. (Many banners are timed to coincide with WSO launches, for example.)

Depends on timing. They stay live for 24 hours. If there's a gap in the approval times, some banners will expire without others having been approved to fill the slots, and some advertisers may be slow (or change their minds) in the payment process.

I don't know how long they stay in "Pending Approved" status before they drop off the list based on not being paid, but it does still take the slot, even when the ad isn't showing.

    Hi Paul,

I understand what you are saying but is there any way we can get more authority to approve these banner ads.

For the last week or two there has only been 5-6 banner ads rotating and I could imagine the impression they got would of been worth the investment.

Also, how do these banners get shown daily for a month straight. Is there a bulk payment for a long duration of time available? Or do they literally submit the same ad 30 times and get approved 30 times.
