    Getting ranked in the search engines is one way to start building your list because some people will naturally sign up without you having to do anything (as long as they like the quality of content you provide). That said, it obviously isn't the only way to build your list.

    SEO is a niche like any other niche. SEO can be seen as independent niche now a days per my believes. Though, it can also be seen as a sub-niche under traffric generation.

    Just google SEO, and see how many SEO blogs pop up with autoresponders ready to capture your email.

    So yes it's possible for list building, but prepare yourself for a high competetion.

      I know this is a competetive niche but also you may have more opportunities to promote offers to prospects .
