affiliate marketing for newbies

Hi All

Does anyone make a living promoting affiliate products full time or part time?

If so, is clickbank still the best place to find products to promote or would you recommend physical products from CJ or linkshare?

I am a newbie looking to start affiliate marketing but need some tips

Thanks so much for all of your helpful tips and expert advice.

    Hi,

Yes you can still make a full-time income form Affiliate Marketing. Clickbank is good for products that can sell quite well, but CJ is also a good option as you could promote well established businesses. But yes Affiliate Marketing is still good as ever.

    Hi,

Try using a mix of physical and digital products, of course, make sure that what you are promoting is related and relevant to what the visitor is looking for.

Once you understand what the visitor is looking for, their needs, wants, problems, etc. Then your only job is to offer them the solutions.

    Hi Scott!

    Affiliate marketing is definitely worthwhile.

Regardless of what affiliate networks you go with, really take the time to learn about keyword research. There are excellent posts on the main forum and the War Room that will help direct you with keyword research....Search is your friend!

I know of many people who make money full time this way, and some of them live quite comfortably. I think clickbank is an excellent place to start for newbies.

I’d say start with affiliate marketing but keep in mind that the real money is made with your own products. Don't let the stiff competition in affiliate marketing scare you away. There are some strategies you can use to effectively find your feet in this.
    1. Choose a good product to promote
Do not make the common mistake of selling the popular products everyone else is selling. Do a simple research first to know if the product is in demand in the market. Also, make sure that the product you'll choose is of good quality.
    2. Do some pre-selling
Most affiliates conduct pre-selling to qualify the leads they will be referring to the merchant's page. This will increase conversion rates because only interested individuals will see the sales page. One thing you can do here is to buy the product you are promoting, and write an honest review about it.
    3. Be capable enough of driving traffic to the merchant's sales page
This is basically the most difficult task you’ll face. In doing this, you should decide first how you will attract traffic towards your affiliate website. You can go for paid advertising or you can spend time creating authority sites that are content rich and with affiliate advertising placed within them. It is good if you can use both strategies.

These tips should get you started and always remember to build a list of all prospects that land on your website first. Listbuilding is the secret sauce that will determine if you'll make 6 figures online or just an average 4 figures
