Anyone has experience in advertising on Reddit?

Hi, folks, I am interested in advertising on Reddit. Do you have any experience with Reddit? What is the best practice?

Say, I want to spend $100 per day on Reddit, how much traffic will I get?

Many thanks.

BTW: I am looking for some experienced website designers for our homepage design. Please PM me if you are interested.

As always, it depends on what you are offering, the section of the site where you advertise, and your actual ad copy.

I tested $200 in advertising and lost most of it.

It was a test that failed.

I am not willing to write off Reddit advertising yet, because honestly, my offer was probably the wrong offer for the wrong audience.

What options are available for advertisers to target their specific audience? What kind of offer do you think would be ideal for reddit? Thanks for sharing.

You're better off advertising on Facebook. Bigger and more general audience.

Reddit users tend to be judgemental, jaded, and snarky. They don't like being advertised to. There are much greener pastures!

Sounds like the Warrior Forum... :p

Yet, some of us still make money in this forum...

Some offers ARE better suited to a general audience, and some offers are better suited to a more specific audience.

Inside Reddit, you can target advertising to each channel within the network. I don't remember having more options for drilling down into the user base.

OP: I am not the person to ask as to what offers you should promote there.

I am not currently running any campaigns there, because I haven't yet figured out what offer would be a good match for that network.

Your best bet would be cats, or anything you can get endorsed by Liam Neeson or Neil deGrasse Tyson :p.

          That is funny.

I only ran the one campaign there. And it was for a book that would have qualified to have been something that could have been endorsed by Neil deGrasse Tyson.

It was for a book that was on the New York Times Best Seller List that talked about astronomy and physics.

          True story... :p

And it didn't sell? Wow, I'm genuinely surprised.

I think with the right offer though, Reddit has some pretty good potential. I've seen (and sadly sometimes participated in) more hive mind behavior there than anywhere else on the internet. Get the right momentum going on an offer and it's off to the races.

I made about $24 on my $200 spend. LOL
