My Plan For Making Money - Is It a Good Idea?

When I first started out I started writing articles for similar websites. You have to do what you have to do to get things started. You can use that money to market your services as you said or you can branch out into other Internet Marketing methods. Writing is a good way to start making money though. You should know that there are better paying content mills out there other than the ones you mentioned. They are talked about on here often, use the search button.

It's a plan in the short term. Writing articles is a lot of work, you would be better off writing content for your own website. Fiverr is a good place to write articles for money as well.

If you really plan on this, I would suggest checking into a program called "Dragon Naturally Speaking" you can dictate your articles with it, I'm able to spit out articles in about 10 minutes using it. (there are places on the net you can get it free, you just have to search)

Yes your plan sounds good to me.As you are from UK no doubt you will have a extra preference in odesk as many clients looking for native English speakers for their article writing needs.Moreover having some portfolio in some other sites really increase your chance of getting a job quickly in a competitive platform like odesk or elance.

If you are planning to write at those rates, when I totally agree with stealthSEO that you should try Fiverr.

From my experience there, the need for good article writters is huge, and by just creating a good, convincing description to your gig and providing 7 days turnaround, you will get nice amount of orders in no time.

You should offer content writing services here. Never miss a deadline and try to learn something new with each job you get. If you do really good work, you won't need to look for new clients in a month or two. Plus you can charge at least $1.5/$2 per 100 words here.

I suggest you Fiverr.it is a good place to write articles and making money also.

It's definitely a great plan for the start.. writing articles to build up your capital, funds (whatever you call it) is a good thing.. you have nothing to lose (accept for your time)!

But I hope this won't be your long term plan. My definition of business is, the business will still run profitably without my staying in the business, I can go holiday whenever I want etc.. Basically it's freedom!

If the business requires me to stay then I'm NO different from an employee, I'm might as well be an employee and climb the corporate ladder.. it's much "safer" and "secure" compared to IM.

Personally, the reason why I started online business is because I wanted to have more "life" .. I hope you have the same reason too

Thanks for all the input guys, I will certainly be giving Fiverr a look. My one concern though is that someone might request an article which requires a lot of research. With websites like iWriter & Textbroker I can choose which topic to write about meaning an article can be completed quite quickly. As we all know, time is money when it coming to writing.

Send me a pm or friend me here. I always need well written content but do not expect you to write for such low wages. If you are up for it we will set you up a service and drive affiliate traffic to it.

Providing a service can be one of the quickest ways to make some cash but it can take a while to get established and you can be competing against people who are prepared to work for very little return.

So you really want to have a clear plan of how you are going to turn your service into a viable business just the same as if you are going to build up a portfolio of web based businesses such as a number of niche or larger authority type websites.

Since you are talented in writing, why not you write eBooks instead? Then sell them at a reasonable price.

Or you can compile your 100 articles into a few eBooks and sell them =)

You can still write your articles to keep the money coming in but at the same time look at creating ebooks to sell as well.

You could also start selling PLR...Certainly would be more than iWriter. I can't imagine writing at that rate.

If you've got $20 - $60 to spare you could easily get work in the Warrior for Hire section...Price yourself reasonably and offer a couple samples with some free 'review' articles (you'll have to hassle people to actually come back and leave a review, c'est la vie) and you'll be good to go in a couple weeks.

The most difficult part is setting the train moving which you have crossed. If you hone your skills as a writer, clients will find you especially when you can deliver right on time.

Once you arrive at $100, you can try creating your own site, selling on warrior forum, buying site from digitalpoint at cheap rate and selling on flippa and then move into ad sense, cpa, affiliate marketing, the list is just endless.

And don't forget, it is not unusual to have people working for you too whether article writing or any.

I appreciate all the feedback guys, I really do! So far, I have written 9 articles on iWriter all with a 5 star rating. Only 21 more to go until I'm an "elite writer," which then enables me to earn $8.10 for a 500 word article instead of a pathetic $2.43.
Reaching "elite" status is my current goal as it will offer me a decent hourly wage. A fellow Warrior has also been in contact about writing a few articles. Things are certainly starting to look up. Spending the day writing instead of applying to jobs and waiting for the eventual rejection email is a pleasant change.

In reply to your message, I plan to sign up to oDesk and Elance and market my services there when I have more of a portfolio. I haven't really given it much thought, but I am certainly interested in hearing more.

Brad, please fix your website. You have no idea how incredibly frustrating it is when you spend an hour writing an article only to see it deleted. Accidentally pressing the backspace button brings up a box asking whether you want to leave the page. It doesn't matter if you click on cancel, the page still closes without your work being saved.
This is the second time this has happened. The first time, I sent you an email, but I have yet to receive a reply. Hopefully, you will reply to this.

I want to try to give you ideas, that you will benefit from in a few different directions.

Priority 1, you need money. And you can use some of that money, to buy traffic to a page, to sell a blueprint or ebook that you wrote, for say $9.97. If it's good enough, you could get it to sell online at Amazon.

Keep writing, and find the best places to offer your services to make the most amount of money. oDesk, eLance, ect. Get some money rolling your way as fast as possible.

Once you get spare time, start writing a blueprint. Start out with where you were before you got the idea to get online and write. "I Graduated for what??? To not find a job! So I started pecking around online and...". Talk about your first job writing for someone. How you picked up momentum. List the places you found worked the best and give ideas on how and what to write, or whatever.. Then go on into the future of how you had your product finished, sold it for 10 bucks, and used $100 you made from writing on those sites to buy traffic at "place x" to send to your page you made. Tell them some marketing 101 about a simple yet effective squeeze page, asking for name and email.. grab leads from it, throw them into an autoresponder... and that you got x amount of leads a day, and made x amount of dollars just selling your ebook!

Who says 1/2 of your blueprint can't be based on what you WANT to happen? ****, over 1/2 the crap you read online isn't tested. The $997 products from so called guru's is rehashed.. It's $10.. make it sound good, believable, and your good to go. You gotta start somewhere. I wouldn't say it's a scam, because it is a completely possible method. And if you spend $100 on a couple places to buy traffic, your bound to make some money off the traffic!

Anyways, you could run some media buys, banner ads, cheap PPC to the page. Once you get the ball rolling, make a quick "slimmed down" version, and at the end tell them to go to your site for the full blueprint. Contact webmasters that are promoting related offers and tell them they can give it out to their people as a bonus... They will email it, or just throw it in their system somewhere, possible on their thank you page or wherever. It's just free exposure.

Write an article, selling your blueprint, and blast it to a few hundred article sites.

You could elaborate, or fill in the blanks.. its 2:30 am, im tired and not thinking completely clear.

The point is, this method would use your writing skills, to make you some money by selling your blueprint and get you leads. Then scale it up (article blasts, joint-ventures, ect.). Use the money you make, to buy more traffic = more money.. Just track your traffic so you know which places are bringing you the most sales. Don't just write for people to make a couple bucks... Think bigger.. This is just an idea, to think outside of the "I'll just make money writing for these dudes on elance for cheeseburgers".
