Why it's good for YOU to ban clients/customers...

As your business grows you'll start to notice that certain things tend to result in more money that others.

So naturally, you will start focusing on those activities in order to increase your income.

However, at some point, you will find that certain people will start to drag you away from your "money" activities. You may start to notice that you're spending more time solving their problems than making money for yourself.

Who am I referring to? Clients and customers who believe it's YOUR responsibility to keep them happy. Now, of course you must deliver and overdeliver but...

There is a thin line: ___________

For example, this morning someone decided that my links to a product download were bad. Upon investigation, (roughly 4-5 emails) it turns out that the customer is not completely familiar with their PC.

That's OK, and I have worked with several clients, and helped them through. It's understandable.

Well, in order to proceed I asked the "client" to repeat a particular step. The reply was to "resend the emails, because I must have delete it when I got upset". Resend the emails?

That's where I draw the line: ___________

I very quickly refunded the person, and asked them not to buy from me again. Why? If they are not mature enough to handle situations like this I don't need them.

You want to use your time for what you want not to cater to other people's whims.

P.S. You bet I got a "flower embedded" email with a description of myself I wasn't aware of before. I'm glad I banned this client!

Interesting attitude. It's too hard to simply send the customer a new download link and tell him how to use it?

If only that would work! That's what I tried to do - but after several attempts, I decided not to start the process all over again just because the client got upset and deleted the emails I sent earlier.
