Keyword Phrase that gets 124 million searches and I own the Domain Name - Now What?

I renewed a domain name of mine last night and then did a keyword analysis and saw that it gets 124 million global searches a month. My domain is wordthis.com. I haven't been using it for anything much and now just have an empty WP theme on it.

I have no idea why anyone would search for "word this." It looks like there is or once was a Google app for Wordpress called Word This--that's the first result.

Now I'm trying to figure out what I should do with this domain name. Here are some of my ideas.
  1. Cash parking
  2. Make a site with some Adsense ads
  3. An article directory
  4. Shopping cart that sells ebooks
Does anyone have any ideas as to why Google is showing so many searches for this or why someone would even search for "word this." What would you do with this domain name?

  • you can't cash parking something is not on the map. You need to have a page on the first place to get your page ranked on search engines.

I think the google keyword tools you have used is broad, it show you not the exact search result but the broad one, that is not accurate because it shows the closest keywords as well which mean if you ranked first on word this, doesn't mean 124 million people monthly will visit ur site.

  • Elizabeth, it sounds like you are looking at broad match results. This means that any query with the words 'word' and 'this' will count toward the search total. Therefore, any person who lands on your domain via this search will be so un-targeted that guessing what they might want will be frustrating and fruitless.

Since you just renewed it, I'd say just park it for cash.

  • While the broad match searches are in the millions, the exact match searches are under 100.

When I start typing "word this.." into Google, Google Suggest starts showing what look like Microsoft Word error messages as in people are typing in "word this command is not available...".

You could target a site about Word and uses, etc, but not sure that's the best use of the space. You could also get creative and build some sort of word of the day site or a play on words site or a make your own word site. I'm totally reaching here, sorry.

  • So I'm thinking that there must be a little difference between less than 100 and 124,000,000 . My excitement over seeing all those zeroes must have taken over my brain.

Thanks to all for reminding me that "broad" was checked.

I kind of like the "word of the day" suggestion...I might do something with that.

    • You aren't the first one to do this. How do you think we all twigged to what happened so quickly? :p

  • Thanks John for not openly laughing out loud!

From looking at your signature I thought you might enjoy this picture of my son. It is Peta inspired.
