Watch out from fake freelancers : I just saved myself $1299
I have been looking for a script to do specific type of website, I searched but I couldn't find a script that does the job I am looking for.
I listed a post on different freelancers websites to create the website I am looking for and the bidding started. I got prices varies from $600 up to over $2000.
Out of bidders only 1 at first claimed "creating a similar website", and give me an example he asked me for $1499.
I liked the functionality but the design was disaster. Paying $1499 and I have to redesign from scratch is little crazy. However, i was considering it since he seems to be the only guy with experience in creating a similar site.
Later on I got another bid from another website for $600 and the freelancer has the same claim of creating a similar site. Although the two sites looked different but the layout is pretty close (way of listing and widgets). No way two designer ended doing the exactly same layout and buttons.
There is certainly a source, i kept searching to find out there is a script sold for $200 that both of them used (the guy who asked for $1499 was using almost the demo after removing the company signature and logo). The funny part he was recommended based on his feedback by freelancer.
