I'd say that you should take that website that you have posted in your sig and focus solely on that for awhile. Jumping around from thing to thing isn't going to accomplish much. So test things out with the TV review site. See what does and doesn't work. Once you have the basics down, then you will be ready to start adding more sites.

I'd say, keep learning until you can answer that question yourself - until you know what you want to focus on. We could give you several examples of where to start, but only you will know if you will enjoy it and/or excel at it or not.

Invest in education. I recommend Chris Farrell membership.

You have a nice domain name and site to develop a good affiliate site. Start to develop some TV reviews on your site of various products. With each review, setup affiliate links throughout the text that will link to your affiliate page...Look into Amazon Associates as they have every product under the sun....Well, almost!

Search "Amazon" on the main forum and just start with the 5 star posts...You'll have more than enough to get you going! You'll be fine!

i would go with list building if i were you, that's the main weapon for IM

lots of reading on what others are doing, asking questions.
you'll start to see trends of what people do 'systems/plans' they are using.

look into each and pick one that you like and is easy to implement.

For me, i'm building a blog where I teach others stuff, thing is, I REALLY like teaching and that makes it EASY to do it all the time. Which, gives me great quality content, etc, etc...

For the most part you will be selling a product (physical product/digital) of your own or someone else's or a service.

After that its really up to you how you do it.

Find someone that is doing what YOU want to do and do the same thing.

Seems like you made your first site. That is a very good thing to start with. Congrats on taking that first step.

Just stay focused. Don't be discouraged if you don't see any money coming in. Continue what you're doing to your site, add awesome content to it bit by bit, and provide links to other sites that you want to promote and recommend.

If you get stuck on something, focus first on that before doing anything else. Once done then you can move forward to other things.

And lastly, unsubscribe to any list that doesn't provide you any value. And have that iron will on not to buy another "awesome new product" because that is what I think puts you into confusion. (Am I right? )

Your site has some potential, but can do with far more work to get it effectively promote TV's to your prospects. I would say if you have a passion for it, just stick with that, and master it.

As others have said- you've got a website set up to do reviews, just keep building it. Promote TVs from amazon/ebay/similar and start driving traffic.

I'd also like to add a constructive criticism about the homepage- it really needs a rewrite. I think if I turned up to the site as a potential customer and was met with that I would be put off from trusting any reviews. Try and make it less informal and reduce the number of exclamation marks

I don't think IM is your thing.
You have asked some good questions the last few months, you have also been given excellent advice.

Your main problem is focus, you are all over the place.
You are in a hurry to start making money, i understand that but you need to have everything in place.

Whatever method etc. you decided on try and master it completely, become an expert at it.

The site in your Sig is not the best I've seen but it's a start. You need to work on your writing skills, layout etc.

You have a lot of work ahead of you if you want to make a decent income from IM.

Many experts says we have to build a list. So list building would be a good start.

As you need promotional tips to advertise your site so I would say that there many places to advertise a site but most of the places may not be effective for all.

If you know forum participation good then you can participate in related forums and you can build link and credibility of your site as well.

If you can write good then you can write few articles related to your site and publish them on top article directories.

Also, track which method is working good and stick with that.

I think honestly nobody's gonna but $1000 T.Vs, I'm gonna really think on this one. I'm not really in a rush for money, I'm willing to work something.g that will be long term.

The most important place to start is implementation! you've been here a while, just pick something and take action! and stick it out!

Stick to the TV Website. Focus hardcore on that and work your ass off. Seriously, you need to hustle in IM. You won't make 100$ overnight, if you don't work.

Take action with whatever you've learned. That's the only way you'll find what works for you and what doesn't. Don't just read or learn. TAKE ACTION.

You will be successful eventually, if you commit yourself to IM.

Decide on an affiliate marketing network, ie. Clickbank or a CPA network, and from there look at the products they have to offer. When you find an offer that you would like to promote, do some good keyword research on words that make sense with that offer. Once you have your keywords, then buy a similar domain preferably with the keyword in the domain. Write some good content and spread your keywords naturally though your content. Outsource or do your own backlinking. If you don't understand some of the things I said, simply use this forum and google to learn them. Good luck!

The first step is deciding what business you really want to be in.

The example site in your signature is one type of business model (affiliate marketing) - to succeed with this business you want to either go wide (lots of review sites in the 5-10 page range) or deep (a coupel of very deep, expert-driven, content sites).

In my experience, the "thin" sites are not as effective and are constantly under pressure from search engines to minimize their ranking.

That leaves "deep" affiliate sites which means you want to commit to a given market, daily content generation plan (either you or outsourced) and learn SEO so you can continue to bring in more and more traffic to your growing affiliate site.

I have to be honest, the people I know that are making a living with these type of sites have spent months/years on building out "deep" content around a passion or past experience. If that sounds cool to you...then you have your plan.

Alternative directions include information marketing, where you focus on training and/or fulfilling demand for "how to" information people have...this means getting to know your market well and positoning yourself/or your business as an expert in that field.

You want to understand clearly (and be passionate about) what business you decide to build, from there you can develop a 1-year, 6-month and weekly plan.

the forum, reading a lot, doing an occasional post, but not implementing
what you learn.

Pick one model and start working on it. Stick with it until you see results.
Whenever you get stuck and have a specific question ask on forum. When
you see a thing that looks interesting, try it and implement it immediately,
and see if it works for you.

Some very good advice here. I had the same problem many years ago. The "bottom line" seems to be pick one project and stick to it, and pick one good recommended "mentor" guru, someone whose style you like and do what they say without sidetrack.

IM CAN be very confusing and overwhelming. Believe me, I know! Been there, done that.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

1. Products
2. Services

That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

Pick just ONE!

1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

O -- One
C -- Course
U -- Until
S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

What niche do you want to focus on?

After thinking a little bit I have started it and now I will finish what I started which is my website in my sig. Ill create my first review tommorrow.

Take what you've been doing with your site in the sig and focus on that. I think the hardest part of breaking in to IM is wading through the flood of information and finding something that sticks and that you can see yourself doing indefinitely.

You are focused on this thread right now. Okay, great.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that you are probably not really interested in building a review site about big TVs. Just a hunch. This is why you are not able to really get into it. You probably picked TVs because you thought it would bring larger commissions.

Understand that many people read product reviews about one thing and then go on and purchase a completely different item on Amazon. So, your real problem is choosing a category that you can stay interested long enough to complete a site.

Amazon has tons of products. I suggest finding a product category that you have some real interest in and create a review site around that topic. Tools, Exercise Equipment, Music, Video Games, Grooming Products, Cooking, etc.

I'm sure you can find something that you buy regularly and like that you can get excited about when writing reviews. Think about this for a while.

Looking at your site, it's basic but as it's not finished. It's still better at a first attempt than mine was.

At first glance I'd look at a less plain theme. It's not bad but there are so many, I'm sure you could find better. I also noticed one of the keywords for the homepage is "blog". With respect, that's awfully broad and a waste of time where TV's are concerned. I don't believe Google pay much attention to your meta keywords now but it shows you could do with learning some keyword research basics.

Having said that, as I suggested earlier, it's a great place to practise writing reviews, content, emails, setting up autoresponders, practising on page SEO and testing what works for off page etc etc etc.

Like I said, right now focus is your issue. Hell I used to procrastinate a lot so I bought some hypnosis CD's. I was very determined to get over the issue so I couldn't say if the CD's were the reason I stopped being that way or if they were just a factor. It may help you though.

Either way, you've admitted your faults and that's the best start. A lot of people simply can't do that.

I never really went for any keywords for my homepage, what I'm really gonna do is rank webpages with the reviews ( one review per page with keywords ). Yeah I admit I could do better with a theme I havent really looked hard enough I just went with one.

Focus on one area. Master it. Then move on to the next.

Google Michael Campbell's "Unrecovery" and give that a go. It's a nice guide and one he makes all his clients go through before 1-2-1 sessions. I'm pretty sure you can download the pdf for free just to get the cogs turning.

Whatever you choose...

1) Get it going fast and learn to fail fast
2) Make consistent progress towards your goal in that business model (avoid the Bright Shiny Objects)
3) Become an expert at it... too many of 'us' fail to become experts at anything from lack of consistency and sticking to one model and making it work.

You're better off following Nightengale's advice. It's the simplest way to make money. But heck, if you're selling a relatively low priced product that has a high perceived value... you could lead people to your sales page (bypassing the optin) and start getting sales this way.

I sure hope you like tvs .. a lot. Would drive me crazier than I am already to write about tvs every day lol.

You should start learning from some good Warrior Special Offers in the topic you want to apply to make money. There are some very good products here, that will lead you (if you take action) to the success you are expecting.

I personally would say invest in a beginner training course and master that first and then when you more comfortable then take on the advanced courses.There is great information here in this forum to get you started.

My personal thoughts on this is to forget it. Best TV Reviews. I wouldn't trust or buy a TV from any website, run by one person as it's not something anyone would go out and buy 10 TVs or the like and then review them.

If it was about 1 TV in particular, then I'd trust it. But if I run a search for a
Samsung xl2370 TV Review

I'd more than likely look at sites which have real user reviews rather than an independent website who's basically reviewing the reviews. It's the only way to run a site like that without buying everything you're reviewing.

That's my stance on it anyway.

That's the downside but I hate to be putting a damper on things so here's an option you might consider.

I see on your about page on that TV review site that you mention

"I am certified to work on my computers"

So I take it you know about computer repairs or something like that.

Why not take that and blog about stuff that's related to it. Speeding up computer speeds, safe downloading, parental controls or a granny guide or something, I have no idea about computers but for someone that does, you will know a lot more than me and others about that topic.

For the record, I'm at the stage where I'm starting over but I'll be going freelance writing, just as some have mentioned in this post.

What I wouldn't do is start out with an affiliate business model. For me it's really difficult. You need to get to know people first, build your trust and then whatever you recommend you need to keep the trust folks have with you.

I think it's harder for to build a following of people when they know you're selling stuff.

If I were you, I'd take what you know about computers, run a website about that, explaining stuff in lamens terms, have an email signup, build a following and then see where things go.

You can still make money from it without selling. AdSense, Infolinks, Kontera and the like.

You guys give great advice, really you guys do. Hmm I don't really hate the TV niche, I'm just unsure if I will get any sales from the TVs is what I'm worried about. Yes I do know about computers a lot, but I don't know what I could with me knowing computers. I will however finish the website I bought, I'm not just gonna let it sit there. I'm just worried if people will buy the TV's, if they don't then thats fine at least I know I got them to the site . Anyways maybe the customers will buy other products instead of that TV you know? I was thinking about doing 2 approaches, doing amazon and clickbank. I mean there both websites selling products just one is information and the other is physical. I could maybe benefit from both or if amazon is better I would go with amazon. If clickbank is better I would go with clickbank? What do you guys think?
