what is the experience after you buying a Web site from auction

I recently brought a site in a popular domain auction site. In the auction list seller said website earned say $800 within say 20 day. But having configured the site to my name, i did not earn any money.

What is you experience? Did I miss something? or has seller lied to me?

    You should never buy a site with unverified income claims. Most likely the seller flat out lied to you... possibly even provided fake income screen shots.

      Yeah verified screenshots all the way. I've been burned before too from not paying enough attention to stats. Unfortunately some people do lie about their sites traffic/revenue.
