I've owned my website for over a year and im stuck on how to progress it and earn more $$$.

.growlongerlashesfast dot com

I currently use google adsense and amazon which is going Ok but i would like to try and increase sales and the amount of ppl visiting my site.

These are my recent visitor stats for the week:

Pageloads - 1,975 Average - 282
Unique Visits - 1,549 Average - 221
First Time Visits - 1,504 Average - 215
Returning Visits - 45 Average - 6

Do i just need to write more articles or are there other methods i should try?

I would really appreciate your feedback

Why not try Pinterest? I hear that is hot nowadays, especially for female niches.

Maybe try becoming active in related forums. That can drive lots of traffic if you do it well.

78% at 5 seconds or less seems high...does your stat program filter out bots?

With Amazon and any affiliate products I guess I'd suggest you just keep the content coming (but keep it consistent) and make it high quality - no keyword stuffing or anything; write stuff that you'd wanna read! I sometimes should take my own advice really on this; it's hard to churn out tons of articles.

Put out 1 article per week; if the site is making money then you could outsource this!

Oh and make sure to bookmark each article (StumbleUpon, Digg etc etc) and submit each one to EzineArticles for possible syndication!
Thanks for the advice. I bookmark every review i do via twitter, digg and stumble upon. I also submit them them to ezinearticles. I will definitely take your advice with the google ads and also the content.

Two quick things you can do (well, one quicker than the other but you'll see what I mean).

      1. Make sure the SEO work is done on the site (use something like Yoast SEO for Wordpress) for one specific keyword, then get the review social bookmarked manually by someone on Fiverr.com. I get three separate people to bookmark my posts in order to spread the word, get an increase in traffic and get the search engines to notice the post.
      2. I notice you're not building a list, so you're going to be constantly fighting for new traffic, instead of attracting people back to the site via a newsletter or similar e-mail broadcast. Write a quick, quality report ('5 Top Tips for Longer Lashes') and give it away in exchange for an e-mail address.
      Hope that helps.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I tried to send a PM but i haven't made enough posts so... A quick question...

You mentioned i should write a article and give it away for free in exchange for an email address.
What is the best program to get this done?
Is there a plugin i can implement which will put a box in my widget section?

        Looking forward to your response

Hey, you can mail me via my blog (link below) if you want more help.

What I was suggesting was to actually create a report (say, 10 to 15 pages with images) that links back to your site and gives readers huge value in the form of tips to help them get what they want.

Just write it in Word, make it look good, add images and a contents page, get a cover done on Fiverr.com, add it to the cover of the report and then use your autoresponder service to set up a web form where they can subscribe. I use GetResponse, which has all you need integrated into it (no need for a widget). I guess Aweber and the others has the same capability.

          Hope that helps.

Here's my 5 cents - maybe make the blog posts a bit easier to read.

I browsed around your site a bit and one thing that immediately crossed my mind was - the font size is a bit to small; maybe you should play around with different font styles.

Here's a great article about finding the optimal font size, I figure you may find it of some use: What’s the Best Font For Your Site?

Better readability should at least in theory lead to smaller bounce rates and bigger conversions!

I was just about to say... Since its making something, you need to postpone any new projects and start building a list... Fast. There are many ways to do it.

This is absolutely necessary to your long term success regardless of the plan of action you choose to take.

Just like SpicyRob mentioned, you're going to be struggling to get new traffic if you don't learn how to recycle the old traffic... which means you have to keep in touch with the old visitors by convincing them to become subscribers.

If you want more guidance, I do free consultations. Just Skype me. Or PM me your contact info.

Writing more articles won't hurt. You can also visit more blogs that are connected to the content on your site. Social media is also a great way to bring in traffic.

The font jumps out of the page. Makes everything seem congested. You should also consider providing your email opt-in box near the top of the page. I would create more content per day, and drive lots of free traffic to it like you would normally do.

You've had some comments on your font. So I'll add my own.

Colored fonts are hard to read. They might look nice, but the user experience suffers.

For me the only choice is black font on a white background.

Next, you will probably do better with adsense in the text column rather than the right column. Adsense should be in the flow of traffic and not parked to the side.

  • When I go to your site, I don't see a Call To Action. The first second, I see nothing to buy and no opt-in. I would try to compare and contrast the top 3-5 items, instead of having the visitor have to read through each post. The way it's set up, it looks like you can only see partial posts, and that is an extra step the visitor has to go through, to read your content. Make it USEFUL, and EASY to compare, and buy. As soon as I get to your site, I see too many choices, and no easy way to make a decision, so I would leave. . . Give me a reason to stay. Like a good video about how this girl got really long lashes . . . Hope that helps.

I think when you use Pinterest you have to market your product in different ways to see what works. Also you can't make it seem too much like an ad. You want people to want to click through the image.
