There are scripts available that allow you to lock out prospects from a certain piece of content, whether it be an article, video, pdf or whatever, until they "like", "tweet" or do some other action.

You could always join facebook groups in your niche, connect with people there and interact... and some of them will come back to your facebook page and "like you".

You've no doubt figured this out but if you're anything like me sometimes exuberance can outweigh good planning SO...to make sure we are capturing people's interests, before you start driving traffic your page or profile needs to be active, regularly updated and interesting. Good enough that when they hit it, they think 'sweet! just what I was looking for...where's my damn like button'.

With facebook ads it is obviously a case of getting noticed and driving traffic as inexpensively as you can. Basic steps:
a. Catchy image and ads;
b. Start within suggested bid;
c. Check conversions which if good, should lower your suggested bid (so lower it);
d. Check conversions again, lower bid, start killing ads with poor CTR
e. Fine tune and profit.

If only it was that easy.

Anyway, the second thing is to create TWO cracking pieces of content (a video and a report works well). Throw your video up with a fan gate (which forces a share to unlock premium content) beneath it. Encourage them to like or share in exchange for the second peice of content - in my example the report.

Why two pieces of content? Because I've read a few helpful case studies of late (which I unhelpfully neglected to bookmark) that showed people are far more reluctant to 'like' something unless they can make some intrinsic determination as to its value first (a like is social, so they don't want to look like tards in front of their friends in case you are peddling crap, neh). SO, in our example we hit them up with an awesome, blood pumping aha moment video, then say 'but the really good stuff is in this report!'. They already like your video, so you already have currency with them which makes a 'like' seem like a good deal in exchange for the report. There's no need to be coy about it, just flat out tell 'em you want their help to get the word out about your rocken' report, and if they help they get a copy!

You can, if you want, then direct them to your fanpage as well (good), or try to capture their email (better).

So obviously we now need to seed some traffic to our video. You can use cheap banner ads (Project Wonderful, stumble upon, paid ads basically - fast but $$$), create some youtube video's or do some forum marketing (cheap but slow), pretty much any way you would normally drive traffic. Thing is, you should only need a bit to get started, then as people share and like your content the thing will hopefully go viral.

Of course, if your facebook page is good, just get constructively involved in similar communities. They see you making some smart comments, it piques their interest, they hit your site and join your flock. Just don't spam (it makes you go blind).

I find this kind of marketing fun once you get some momentumn, I just wish I had more time to do it.
