would i be wasting my time developing the site & writing up my articles before publishing?

so i am building a blog as a side project. I know that writing up my articles ahead of time is not a waste of time. I want to give my readers a grip to read that way it builds rapport with them. On the other side of this equation,

the design of the site?

any suggestions (static - dynamic)

You lost me a little bit from the thread title to the actual OP. I'll try to help anyways though lol. Having content prepared beforehand is definitely a good idea. Before launching my first site I personally had ten different articles ready to go. You don't want to send readers to a bare site.

As far as design? I have personally chosen to go with a static website. That was purely personal preference at first and then I stuck with it after split testing showed it had a better response. I suggest you do the same and see what your niche readers like.

      IGP,

From Wikipedia: "A static web page (sometimes called a flat page[1]) is a web page that is delivered to the user exactly as stored, in contrast to dynamic web pages which are generated by a web application."

Is this what you are trying to decide, or did you mean something else?
