Opt-In-Email List Why Benefitial To IM Businesses?

Everyone doing internet businesses knows that the money is in the List, but the problem with over 90% of newbies is that they are overwhelmed when you mention List building.

So how can one start this very important aspect of IM business?

What are the tools needed to achieve this task?

    1) hit many forums related to your niche, start making a presence and become an authority in that field, put link in signature that drives ppl to your site with opti-in. Put link in sig say, after 30-50 posts, so it doesn't look like you're spamming their forum.

    2) hit google groups, yahoo groups and start posting / advertising (this is what I did and grew my list to over 400,000 people, not google groups mind you, but yahoo groups, after about a year I had over 60,000 people, and since the information I was providing was free, it went viral over the course of the next few years.

    3) hit adwords, msn, yahoo, etc (other ppc networks) and start paying for traffic

    4) go to getresponse.com and pay for leads - I do, and grew my list to over 3,000 people inside a few months

there's so many ways to get traffic to list here.

bascially, just get the word out there

Can you explain a bit on this part. Haven't thought of this before....thanks for the tip.

      1. are you joining IM related / money making group or other niche?

      2. how do you set it up? place a link to your squeeze page where you send out free content in exchange for an email? like most people is doing now?

      3. do you use single opt in or double opt in? depending on niche, double opt in might not work for all niche. (especially for non tech savvy niche)

      4. does yahoo group allow you to place a sig file or what?

I'm struggling with this too. getresponse, aweber 1shipping cart cost money. You've to shell out 20 bucks per month while you haven't make any money yet.

if u really can't afford 20 bucks a month you can host your own autoresponder from your webhost cpanel...

if u use hostgator everything is just a few click away..

but i can tell u that a good webhost and autoresponder is key to your online business

if investing 20 bucks a month scares you, don't hope to make really good money in this business, in fact maybe starting a business isn't for you yet..

i'm not trying to discourage you from doing online business though... but it takes some money (not a lot) to get started...

Start with FeedBurner to start your lead generation activities for free then consider your options when you start to make the minimum amount per month for the ones you mentioned above.

Simply set up a free blog, include feedburner code then you're off to the races when you post, your list will receive your post via email delivery &/or RSS based on their choice of subscription.

Easy stuff with no cost out of the gate to get you familiar with list building & recycling traffic.

To add on to the above post, you need to have something to give away. I recommend creating something on your own. Get some good PLR content on the niche that you want to focus on, then re-write it into your own PDF ebook. Give it a catchy name, then either design, or have designed, a good landing page with an opt-in form.

If you have little or no funds:

    1. Visit forums and groups that are in your niche and participate, but make sure they allow for a signature line so you can promote your stuff. (Don't promote hard, just provide value in your responses to the group.)

    2. Give something away (of value) to people visiting your link (in step 1) in exchange for their e-mail address.

    If you have some money:

    1. Use PPC to drive people to a squeeze page (a web site that is geared to getting subscribers by offering them something, just like mentioned above).

    2. Set spending limits.

    3. Test (measure) which squeeze page performs the best since you are paying per click, not per subscriber.

First things first is get you a autoresponder for your website after you achieve this many things can be done. Blogs, commercials, setting up accounts with twitter, facebook, myspace, youtube, etc. with content and installing a link to your site helps get them back to your site. Now what are you gonna do to get them on your list?

A giveaway of your product is what I recommend doing to get them to signed up to your list. Many people thought that this was a bad idea simply cause they're greedy being afraid they produced something that could of mad them a lot of money when in all actuality producing clientele is what produces money and even an potential partners.

If you have something someone can benefit from and you can bare to let it go then put it in a giveaway for them to sign up to and keep Hustling.

    Have a Great Week
