Questions to ask yourself when creating a new site

Here is a list of questions I always ask myself when I am working on a new website. These questions in my opinion apply to most affiliate or Adsense sites, as well as many others. There are also times where some will be more or less important.

Bear in mind, when asking yourself these questions you have to take a 3rd party stance, so it might be helpful to show an honest and critical friend your website and pose him/her these simple questions:
  1. Does the website keep me engaged? If I were to find this site using a search engine would the content be of value to me?
  2. Is it obvious from the beginning what the site is all about? Or do I have to look around to find the purpose behind it?
  3. Does the website appear to have a onesided bias? Or does it paint the picture from both sides?
  4. Is the content well written, grammatically correct, and understandable on a high school education?
  5. Does the website allow a visitor to "leave with more then they came with?" (knowledge?)
  6. Does the website overwhelm me with ads?
  7. Is the website visually appealing, yet not overwhelming?
  8. Is there an easy way I can share this page with my friends? Is it even worth sharing? (Social plugins)
  9. Does it look like the creator of the site took time to create it, or does it look like it was thrown up in an hour?
  10. Did I even find what I came here looking for?

I'll probably edit and add more to this list if I can think of some. Just wrote this on the fly. And everyone please feel to contribute your own "questions"!
