Do You Compete In Small Or Large Niche

Hey guys!

Hope you're all having a productive day

After listening to many different guru's talk about whether you should try your luck at a competitive niche or not, I've found they all take one of two difference stances.

1. It's easier if you go into a smaller niche where there is less competition.

or

2. It's easier if you enter a competitive niche where there are known buyers (eg. internet marketing).

Which stance do you take?

Do you think it's easier to enter a competitive niche and take a 'slice of the pie' or dominate a smaller niche?

It`s all a Risk and Reward system for true internet marketing, or at least that`s what ive learn`t through my experiences.

I'll take it from whether you have the time and resources (pockets) to sustain you first.

If you're dependent on the income, I'd say go for the less competitive niche, dominate it (it'll take awhile, like any other worth ventures), then come back and start in the more competitive one.

Because 1) you've gained some experience and can now do things better, faster, smarter and 2) you'll have the income from the first niche powering you up.

        Good point.

So basically your saying practice in smaller markets until you have the experience to compete in more competitive ones... smart

I think that before people can be successful at any kind of marketing online they first need to understand the difference between a market and a niche. The word niche gets thrown around here every day in reference to major markets. For example, last week someone wanted to know if they should invest $500 in the health or diet niche. Ugh.

Both of those, like Internet Marketing, are multi-billion dollar mega-markets.
