Why is it so hard to stick to a simple system and just do it?

In my 5 years of IM experience, the things that made the most money were very simple systems which were boring to implement and was very hard to keep working on it everyday with discipline.

I guess we do not like simple systems because simple is not easy.

As the saying goes, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

I have always been drawn to more complex methods of creating value and profits but they were not as successful as the simple but not easy ones. Even after 5 years, I get excited about new trends and lose focus. Then it takes a while to get back on track to my main project.

Simple methods not only makes us rich but also creates a lot of value in the market thereby making this world a better place.

Just sticking to a proven system is all it takes to make money online. Not intelligence, contacts, luck... no such B.S.

Just plain work... focused work. Nothing else.

It is not what you do but how you do it which determines how financially successful you are in business.

Shiny new object syndrome and lack of patience to see something through.

The key lies in continuing your work when you feel very little till no effect. I think most people quit way to early.. If you quit to early you will never get through it and end up being a quitter rather than a success.

Your goal should always be to see what you get as an end result, never your input. Input never keeps you going, but the eventual output does.

There are far too many distractions, focused work with a simple business plan is what most of us need. I try to spend less time here, but more time doing my business.

Yes, hanging around forums like this for too long is a major distraction. Self-discipline is the key, which I obviously have in spades, since I've been hanging about here for at least the last hour! jk!!

But, closing out all distractions, such as Skype, e-mail, etc., is very important in order to be able to focus on what you need to get done. It's easy to get sucked into all that stuff and before you know it, half the day's gone.

The amount of information available to us as internet marketers is absolutely insane, and the temptation to jump on something new and fun is overwhelming.

I'll freely admit that the rush of building something brand new is simply intoxicating.

The best way I've found to combat this is to ensure that I select a business model that I find to be personally fun and interesting most of the time.

Of course, there will be days when even the most "fun" project ceases to be so, but taken as a whole, it really helps to find one single proces you enjoy and keep coming back to it day after day.

There are so many distractions like Facebook, Twitter, Forums, News Sites etc. You have to set your goal and time and do your task no matter what.

As a newcomer to this forum I've already been enticed by three or four WSOs and then not put one of them in action (yet) ... trouble is so many of the WSO sales pages are so vague that they sound ideal but when you actually get the details they're not quite what you thought, or they don't really grab you. But yes, there are far too many distractions, and when you're trying to run a "standard" business and are being seduced by the ideas on here too it's difficult to stay focussed!

Like the others said, it's very easy to get distracted. People have short attention spans, especially when it comes to the internet.

And with so many options available to take advantage of, some people just have trouble picking one and sticking with it. It makes you think there's an even easier way to make money and you end up just running around in circles.

I find scheduling my day and setting daily goals helps me.
