Hi

Im after someone to design me a logo and some content and been advised to use Fiverr.

Have you used Fiverr? Can you trust the person you contact to do a good job for you? I know its only £$5 but i really am on a budget and would want a good product and content etc for the money

Look at the "Gig Rating" at the top, then scroll down and see how many times it received positive reviews and negative reviews. If there's 100 positive reviews and no negative reviews you can be pretty confident they deliver what they promise.

If ordering a logo from Fiverr I'd be more worried about if they have full rights to the logo. They could be using a template they don't have rights to. I've heard of that happening before.

But knowing if they will deliver or not is easy with the rating system Fiverr uses.

Hi, yeah for sure I use Fiverr for the odd small jobs that I require, and I never had a problem with using them.

What I usually do is always choose the Top Rated Sellers, this way I can be sure they will deliver on time and expect to be good quality.

    Thanks

No matter what you do, no one can be trusted. But if you select and do what Shimon says, I do believe that Fiverr is a good site.

I have used fiver once and I got a very fast result for keyword research. I was very satisfied with them.

Make sure that you look at the feedback from other people before you go with them. You should be good to go.

I wouldn't use Fiverr for a gig like logo design. Think about it. That logo is going to represent your whole business.

I've used Fiverr for a few logo designs.

Actually I've had 3 in total made, by 2 different designers.

In fact, the second one I don't consider a designer, looking at the quality, they'd downloaded photoshop, watched a tutorial on adding drop shadow and that was it.

However the other designer did some great work for me, worth way more than the $5 price tag and there were several revisions .. I was going to link you to the gig but it's been taken off for a while, the username was "debralynn" .. I imagine the gig will be back up at some point.

If you can't wait though then be sure to look at the reviews and shop around and make sure you can see some of the designers previous work.

Generally though you will get much better work if you a designer from elance or something like that.

On Fiverr you have to search long and hard to find the diamonds in the rough and the logo will brand your business and become part of it's identity so it's worth making sure it's high quality ..

Also when you post on elance you'll be able to specify different sizes and layouts that you will require for your logo and have it done exactly to spec.

Generally with Fiverr there are some limitations and the Gig that you purchase isn't usually exactly what you're after, unless you request a Gig.

It all depends on your budget though, you'll pay a lot more on elance, but it will be worth it ... if your budget is tight then you can get some good work done on Fiverr but go there with realistic expectations.

I've used Fiverr and had a great experience each time. The key is to be very careful who you choose. Read all the reviews and definitely try to get a good feel of the person.

Of course! but as with any service provider do your due diligence first; there's good and bad in every source.

Ask yourself this... if you were providing a service on ffiver, would you trust yourself? would you expect prospects and clients to trust you? of course you would!

Wow, you really want A LOT of value for your money, don't you? Plus, $5 in the UK is nothing to be honest. You're starting with the wrong mentality - you should be prepared to receive crap for that much money, because as I'm sure you know, if you put in crap, you get crap.

I would personally not even turn on my laptop for $5.

The fact that you can get decent services on Fiverr should be a bonus, not something that you should really expect.

Plus, as people said before me, you risk getting a template for which they don't even own the rights (I know they usually do that with video templates, I've seen it).

    Just my two cents.

Trust? Not implicitly, no. Not for five bucks. But, it sounds like you don't have a choice. Cataclysm1987 makes a legitimate point, but if your budget is that tight, you can always have a logo redesigned by a professional once you start making money.

Go for it. Unless you have a friend willing to work for free, you won't find a cheaper deal. Further, I would consider a lack of negative reviews more important than a positive review. For a lot of reasons. One being that pissed off people that feel they got screwed can be more motivated to leave a review, whereas a positive review can simply be the result of somebody not wanting to be overly critical, as in 'just being nice, but not entirely honest'.

want a good product and content etc for the money
Avoid it like the plague for content generation. The people hiring themselves out there, with maybe a very rare exception, are not 'professional' writers - you can write every bit as good as they can and you probably know more about the subjects you want content for than they do.

Be wary of great reviews for fiverr writers, whether on fiverr or on this forum. Exhibit A:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5993054

I personally would never buy anything from anyone that had such careless mistakes on display on their website, like your nice quirkygifts sites - not because I am an uppity writer, but because they lose my trust. If they lack the professionalism to simply proofread their content, what kind of product/customer service can I expect? Same quality?

Write your own content until you can afford a better writer. You will put more effort, time and care into it than anyone on fiverr will.

    • I'm not sure how this devolved into a discussion about writing, since the OP is looking to have a logo designed on Fiverr, but...

How serious are you about this? Are you dashing off a couple dozen AdSense sites and don't really care if the logo reflects the theme of the site? Or is this a full-time effort and you'd like the kind of logo that stands the test of time? Because if it's the latter, Fiverr is probably not for you. The better logo designers have gone on to better things and better pay.

But if you don't care that much, Google "free logo design." Your average Fiverr seller these days is probably just going to use a free tool to generate a random logo for you anyway...and pocket your $5. Might as well do it yourself.

Fiverr is great you just need to do your research on the seller and if needed ask some questions first if that makes you feel better. I wouldn't count Fiverr out though.

I use fiverr all the time. Never for a logo though. Some tips are:
    1. Use the Rating Sort underneath the search bar to get the highest rated sellers for your needs.
    2. Actually read the reviews and ratings. You'll most likely be able to spot fake reviews.
    3. ALWAYS message the seller first. If they don't respond in the fiverr "sales process" then they sure as hell ain't helping you after the sale.
    4. Communicate well. If you get your product or service and you don't like it. Use the "More Options" or "Got Problems" tabs if needed.
    5. DO NOT just comment in the comment box after you receive the gig. This automatically gives them a thumbs up by default and pretty much gives you no recourse action. Use the buttons in number 4 instead.

    Hope this helps.

I've used fiverr for a logo twice before, and now I'm waiting for the third.

Make sure to check how happy other people are with the service - read the reviews.

One of the logos I got was awesome. One was decent and needed a bit of a "fix me up".

I'd say try a logo designer but make sure to mention that YOU want copyright for it

I use Fiverr literally all the time and so far, it has been going pretty good for me. There are sly people on the Internet, after all the Internet is so vast and you might get conned on online platforms sometimes.

Fiverr is basically a shot in the dark if you don't take certain precautions. But usually I will check for a decent amount of positive reviews (25 at least) and that at least 30 people ordered the gig. There are cases where people write in their own good reviews to leave a good impression to their potential buyers.

So far Fiverr is a trusted website, and it's only $5. I think if you actually get conned you can get a refund from Fiverr within 14 days, if I'm not wrong it's in their policy.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions!

You cannot implicitly "trust" anyone that you don't really know anything about, whether online or offline. I personally would not use Fiverr for content or design. I did get two wonderful "funny" videos made on Fiverr and they were top notch. They cost me $10 with his tip gig, but worth much more.

I think you'd end up with better quality content and logos on the WF in Warriors for Hire. There's plenty of crappy little tasks that I use Fiverr for, but when I need more than five bucks worth, I don't go there.

Keep an eye while you search for a provider, many from different companies are there to run away giving you a bad quality work.... no use of them...

Looking at gig rating is one of the best possible methods to check how much they are strong in work quality

A small part of me likes the occasional "gamble" aspect of fiverr. Since its only five bucks, it is kind of fun to see the varying results for the gigs you get.

I just had a video made last week by someone on Fiverr.

In the past a video of this quality as a WSO would've cost $40 to $60 or more.

The video was delivered to me 100% right the first time and I got it in less then 24 hours...all for $5

    How can you go wrong?

Not true. If jobs are canceled by the seller or even Fiverr (automatically for lack of delivery or from a complaint), you can't leave feedback.

The feedback system is really slanted towards the seller.

Fiverr will have a mix of different people on it like any other market place. Some will be brilliant at what they do and you will love the work and others will offer poor quality and you won't.
Hidden among the people trying to do a job will be some who just want to take your money and run. This is not Fiverr it is just life.

Yes, it is just $5. And you will most likely get what you pay for. Logo graphic design can be very expensive elsewhere so anything you get with $5 should make you happy.

Also, like Dan Allard said, you can check people's ratings, thumbs up, and reviews of previous customers for that user.

I say go ahead and try it, and use someone who has good reviews.
