Add your own thoughts as you wish.

First, get out that negative energy in this thread and then focus on the positive thereafter!

But here's how to fail:

Always talk about what you are going to do, and never actually do it. Always plan it and never actually go through the steps to put that plan into action.

Or, try something for like, an hour or two and then say you'll come back to it and don't. Then say it "didn't work for me." That's right, it didn't work for you because you are expecting money to magically fall out of the sky for a half-arsed effort.

Constantly be a buyer and never a seller. You may buy tons of IM products but until you start selling (any niche), you will never make money. You get absolutely no money for buying something.

Think that because you went through the steps to buy a WSO or other IM product that it constitutes doing something. It doesn't. You just bought something, same as buying a movie or a video game.

Call everyone a scam-artist because since you are not focused enough to put into action what you've learned.

Blame everyone else for your own failures and constantly whine like an immature child because you somehow feel you're entitled to success for whatever reason.

So:

There are some crap products out there, it's true. But remember no product can make you money. You are the one who earns money, and nobody else. Get out of the constant greed you have to make a ton of money fast and start thinking about how to start an actual business.

I've learned to only buy the best if I buy an IM product. I'm always satisfied these days with my buys because I buy what I want to learn more about, and I don't get sucked in to something that's only going to distract me from my goals. Be wise, and use your brain.

Above all, after you get out of this thread, be positive!

Think of all the reasons you will succeed, rather than all the reasons you think up that you will fail.

I think you just stated the top 1001 reasons to fail in IM for newbies in one single post.

Many new IMers take action after buying a product but they loose soon after not making any money. Persistence is the key here.

I am completely agreed with you. This point is very common among many online marketer.
For getting success have to have a good plan and then will have to work very hard until getting success.

    Oh I know one.

Competing in a competitive niche with no back-end products.
For example, only selling ONE $7 or $27 product.
By the time affiliates get paid, the margin is smaller.

But it costs time and money to acquire a lead in a competitive niche.
So only way to remedy this is to build a strong back-end funnel.

Without it, the marker will get burned out because he is
working too hard driving traffic to the site and wondering
if it's worth the time after seeing small ROI.

The same thing happens when someone starts building
a sizable list, but doesn't know how to sell to that list. All his
efforts get wasted if the backend funnel is weak.

I think you're right. A solid business model will go a long way towards long term success. Part of that is a great sales funnel.

However, at least somebody who's selling a product and building a list is doing something! But you should always seek to improve your strategy.

I think by far the 2 biggest things holding people back are

    1) Lack of focus

    2) Being afraid to fail

They tie together, too. One day you're working on Project A, then that night you start to worry it won't work.

Tomorrow, you'll do Project B until completion! Until something else happens...

If you are afraid to fail, what's a way you can get around that? Don't even try! Then you subconsciously feel you are at least not failing. Because if it doesn't work, what then? Your dreams are dashed?

Honestly I've had that problem myself before, and yet it's still a form of failure. Doing nothing because you want to keep your dreams intact rather than deal with reality can be a big problem for a lot of people.

If you struggle with that, don't fall into that trap! Keep pushing for success, and though you may have "failures" along the way, at least you are trying, and that's a key for successful people. They test, they try, they actually do something, and go from there.

Start one hundred websites in your first month in the world of internet marketing

No seriously, there are people who attempt this. While I am all for being ambitious, one should realize that creating a website is not the same as creating a business. Like any offline business, an online business requires extreme attention, fine tuning, development and such. These are all very time consuming. Start off small, and then begin to grow gradually. Have an ambitious long term vision, but don't jump to reach it in the short run.

Very nice post, it sums the blueprint for failure nicely. If I may add, I believe
there are two major differences between successful and unsuccessful people,
that are very much in line with your points in the post.

    1. Successful people see opportunities everywhere, unsuccessful people see only obstacles.

It all comes down to mindset. You find what you look for. Always think positive.
It’s not what happens to us but how we react to it.

    2. Successful people take responsibility for their actions, unsuccessful people always blame someone else.

As long as it’s “someone else’s fault” you can’t change, since you believe there’s nothing
wrong with you. Only when you accept that only you can change your life, and that it
depends on you whether you succeed or not, you can start improving and moving forward.

    Here's another on my mind...

Don't keep a schedule or a plan. This will almost ensure failure as you will have no idea what you are going to do for the day and let whims and impulses guide your day. That product you were thinking of making that you could get finished in a day or less?

You'll get it done because you keep putting it off as you never schedule the time to actually do it.

Very nice post and I agree that is the reason many people fail in this business. People are afraid to start something because they are afraid they will fail, or if they do start and it doesn't work out for them soon enough they quit too early. If they only knew that if they had just kept going it would have all worked out in the end.

It's important in internet marketing to fail fast so you can succeed faster. Most people are scared to shatter or lose their dreams (by failing) and as a result of that fear they never take the plunge into trying and trying again, and again (if needed).

That's why it's important to overcome the fear of failure and the only way you can do it is to take action and if you are to fail at something, fail fast, learn from it, and then move forward. If you stay at it and learn from your mistake you shall succeed.
