Just started my future, need some further advice!

About a year ago I made about $x,xxx with IM but that method is saturated. I had a some decent money and began spending. I wast still very interested in IM but didn't take action anymore.
Now I need money again and i'm very motivated. I am planning to learn a lot more about IM and make a niche site empire. SEO is still my weakest point and I could really use someone to help with it.
With the Google Keyword tool I found a keyword that has 14.800 searches a month. I want to make this my main keyword but I don't know if I can rank for it. The keyword has 517.000 searches if I type "keyword" in Google.
About the domain, www.keyword.com/net/org are already taken, but .biz is till left.
The first 4 sites have these stats:
Do you guys suggest me to take a shot at this keyword?
I think I can earn a lot of money with Amazon products with this keyword.
Some advice would be very welcome and appreciated
