How to find Solo Ads that are NOT in the Internet Marketing Niche

This question has come up about 20 times in the last 2 weeks so I thought rather than keep answering with the same answer I thought I would make a thread about it so that as soon as someone asks this question again you can point them to this thread and it will show them how to do it

Finding Solo Ads in the IM niche is a lot easier than other niches such as weight loss, dating, muscle building, yoga etc

There are some resources which some people have mentioned in here but to be honest you dont need any resource because often they are either burnt out or out of date, not only that your best to do it the way im now going to tell you anyway because not many other people do it this way, but dont let that fool you this is very powerful technique, people are just lazy

So save your money and spend it on the method which im now going tell you about

1. go to google and type in your keyword say "six pack abs"

2. change the page to show 100 listings

3. go through and open up each site in the serps one at a time and every site which has an opt in box save the site in a notepad (this means there building a list)

4. if you go through say 100 sites there will be a fair few that have opt in boxes

5. once you have compiled a good list of sites which have opt in boxes
email the site owner from the "contact us" link almost every site has one

6. Now you have 2 options

a. Email them and ask them if you can pay them to send your free offer to there subscriber list going to your squeeze page

b. If you have a (quality) product tell them you would like them to have a copy for free and if they like it tell them they can send it to there subscribers and you will give them 100% of the profits

BUT.... they will be building you a list of buyers

ALSO.... if you have an upsell or downsell you will still make money on the back end so its a win win situation for you

7. If you end up just paying for a SOLO ad then ask them these questions

1. how big is your list
2. what is your open rate on a normal mail out
3. What is your average amount of clicks per mail out

I would rather just get them to send me a screen shot instead its better, but do what ever you feel is better for you

IF YOU END UP BUYING A SOLO AD

Then decide how much you can pay for a SOLO ad based on the figures and stats they give you

For instance if they average 500 clicks (within the email) on an average mail out then thats 500 clicks to your squeeze page

If your squeeze page converts at 25% then you will gain 125 new subscribers

(TIP - I dont like to pay more than $1.00 per new subscriber. I always end up paying much less however all niches vary slightly)

So if you paid around $125 for the SOLO ad then you would be paying $1 per subscriber

REMEMBER... if you have a OTO you could easily make a lot of your SOLO ad investment back. Basically the better sales funnel you have the more profitable you can make your campaigns

IF YOU DECIDE TO LET THEM PROMOTE YOUR PRODUCT

Then your in business because you will be building your buyers list for free and you will still make money on the back end (if you have one which I hope you will have)

This is the techinique and it works very well

If you are not sure on anything leave a comment and I will do my best to answer it

Paul

You can do all that OR you can just work with an email list broker

Sorry for the resurrection an older thread (which is a great one BTW OP!) but I could not find through search how to deal with an email list broker, or a list of recommended ones.

Also, is there a way to find email brokers that are targeted to your niche?

      Thanks!

yes, you can go broke doing this, though. Every guru and his dog right now is promoiting the whole (buy a list and make ship loads of money)

It doesnt work like that though. So just becareful.

There are lots of other ways to make money quickly than just renting emails for some company that will tell you you will make tons of money.

I'm doing it successfully right now. No guru I know of is teaching what I'm doing.

It's not "just renting emails from some company." It's legit email advertising in niche newsletters to people who aren't jaded webmaster wannabees.

If anyone here has a budget of $2500+ for a test, I can put you in.

Does this work if you're running an affiliate site too? Instead of offering products/pitches to the list, do you think that the owners of the websites and lists would appreciate quality articles that have a link back to my site?

    Regards,

    i agree celente

using the method i mention above is a fresh unique way of buying solo ads in other niches, not many people do this because it requires a bit of work but those that do use it will benefit big time

but as i said before you part with any money ask those questions i mention so you can see the type of results you would expect from the solo ad and then go from there

I'll let everyone else work it out, but you could use particular search strings to come up with more sites with optin boxes.

True. No doubt - there are some specific search strings which you can make use of to come up with some good lists.

However, I do not know why Safe Swaps falls short of people having lists in the weight loss niche and other niches. Its mainly the IM List Builder's dreamtown out there :O

      :O
      yeah there are lots

all i used to do is type my main keyword such as:

      muscle building "free course"

      or muscle building "free ebook"

      this works with any niche

I read this post when you first made it Paul, and for some reason it fell through the bottom of my "mental file cabinet" and I'd forgotten all about it. I'm really glad it got bumped this morning so I could see it again.

    Thanks!

You can also use "keyword + subscribe to our newsletter" to find non-IM niche webmasters who are building lists.

By mailing your freebie and they get the OTO or up-sell profits? Could you give more details of this part?

I must have slipped a cog or something.

what i mean is when you contact them you have 2 options

      1. buy a normal solo ad where they send you traffic from there list and if your using a OTO and upsells etc then YOU of course keep all the profits

      2. If you have a good paid product then give them a free review copy then if they like it they can then promote it to there list. If they do promote it to there list you give them all the front end profits (100%)

then if you have back end offers in place you can still make money, they are making money while giving there list quality stuff

      everyones happy

(you only give them the profits if they promote your main product to there list)

      hope this helps :-)

I didn't really go through the thread but I'd just like to share what I do to get solos from other niches.

Basically all you need to do is head over to Google and type in your keyword + "newsletter" and it should bring up a ton of results with blogs and websites with opt-in forms. All you have to do next is contact the blog owner and say you're interested in an ad swap or solo.

    Hope this helps.

      your welcome

yeah you can outsource this job very easily

just tell your outsourcer to spend a few days getting a big list together and give them the email to send each site owner and just wait for the replies

this whole method is very powerful but very under used ;-)

I know this sounds a bit of a silly question, but by contacting them directly via their blog for example. Aren't we in a way at risk of being taken for a ride? Only because there will be no third-party to handle disputes or refunds for when/if a solo ad is not sent or gain poor clicks.

How exactly do you guys handle this? Or is this simply just a risk of doing business?

    hey dan

its a fair question but in my experience its never happened

there is always a slight risk of someone not delivering what you bought but if that is the problem then you always have paypal to fall back on

this is business after all as you say but this has never happened to me because i do my best to only contact site owners which seem professional and take there site seriously

you can tell this by looking at the site, see how old the site is, how much traffic they get, if it looks good and if there is plenty of activity on the blog too

generally you should be fine but it`s always good to be a bit cautious
