Outside of paid traffic, the fastest way to get traffic is probably leaving good comments, on related blogs. It's free to do, and the traffic is targeted.

I don’t know any fast traffic generating method, but since you have free time you should create Squidoo lenses. You’ll make money for creating them and for selling various affiliate products, besides promoting your websites.

You should also answer questions at Yahoo Answers. You can promote your websites, indicating them as your source of information.

You should also visit forums and blogs about your niche. Participate of the conversations. Put your link in your signature. Then, post nice comments at various blogs. Write something substantial and related to what you read in each blog, so that you may be followed by various readers, and so that you won’t look like a spammer.

These free traffic generating methods take time, but they work.

Before wasting your time with forums and blogs without real traffic, look for their page rank.

Soloads come way top in my list, followed closely by banner ads on related blogs. Forget google adwords and ppc if you're a beginner and don't have a lot of money to test with.

You should consider posting on Scribd or Youtube. With Youtube, you might wake up with 100 views overnight, with alot of traffic back to your website immediately.

Hands down, the fastest way to get traffic is to buy it. It's not even close. Once your ad is approved (Adwords), you could have thousands of visitors within hours.

There is no such thing as fast and easy unless you do it in illegal way or buy software to get it.

Adfly is very fast but it's not very targeted

attracting good number of visitors is indeed quite tricky. I suggest you to try several strategies and see what works well on you.

Personally I wouldn't bother Adfly. They make your analytics look good but that's about it.

It depends what you want to do really. Free traffic takes time and effort to get and paid traffic takes time to master.

I have to agree with the above, forums are the easiest along with blog commenting and yahoo answrs! it takes regular commitment but it sure does pay off!

I'd have to go along with a lot of the comments above. Forum traffic works well and a well written press release that is well broadcast also works well.

I've also had some good results with Yahoo answers as long as the info is real and usefull. Tried doing it with a VA who just spammed everone and got nothing in return. Doing it "for real" now and getting good traffic.

The other thing that works well are email swaps and solo emails. I'm a member of Safe Swaps and find it works well (in moderation). You can check it out here if you want - Safe Swaps and yes its a shameless aff link.

For a longer term approach social bookmarking has produced results. I use a free site called SocialMonkee

YouTube for free traffic. For cheap, paid targeted traffic, consider PPV (Pay-Per-View). Cost per view starts from $0.015.

I would personally never attempt getting fast traffic, since it rarely ever pays off. You should work out a medium to long term strategy for getting good quality, relevant, targeted traffic to your website.

There are a number of methods you can use to do this. Perhaps some of the quicker ways would be to do forum marketing and posting on relevant blogs. Other, more long term measures include search engine optimization, social media marketing etc.

If you have a lot of free time... then you might want to do article marketing. It works great plus will help rank your site as well.

Then turn those articles into nice videos(powerpoint + screen capture) and upload them on YouTube with a link back.

Spin those articles & submit them to other article directories.

Plus, if you have a list, then try free ad swaps etc. This will get your targeted traffic.

And since you are already spending some money on paid advertising, i suggest take a portion out of that ad budget and buy solo ads. This might work more effectively.

Ask for Solo Ads and Banner Exchange to quality website administrators with a similar niche. They must have an up-to-date website or blog.

Write great content and distribute it like a maniac. It's called article syndication. Guest blogging also works great. Press releases, too.

Basically, with these methods, you're publishing your content to targeted crowds.

I agree with Dukes, I don't think anything that claims to be both fast AND easy is legitimate. The best thing you can do is create quality content and sell something that people will actually want. I know, much easier said than done.

I wish there was an easy way for fast traffic. Unfortunately, for me it's been a slow climb and I assume it's the same for most people.

For instant traffic social media is the best way, or a banner ad in a busy place. Social media excels if you have quality followers and I have had really good traffic from it quickly

The very fastest has always been and will always be paid traffic. That doesn't make this the best traffic and especially not for someone with a small budget and who is fairly new to marketing. That being said, paid traffic can be quite lucrative when done right.

As far as free traffic goes, i would say that blog and forum posting (really adding value) is a great way to get quick targeted traffic and article syndication. Both of these methods are free and can get some really targeted traffic to your site quite quickly.

On the other hand, social media is a gold mine for getting great traffic but you have to understand how to use it and it can take a little bit of time to build a good following of people if you have never done anything like this before. Either way, definitely worth thinking about. The last thing i want to mention is video marketing. Now-a-days everyone is in to video and videos can be relatively easy to rank compared to websites. I've generated quite a bit of traffic creating simple powerpoint videos and uploading them to youtube.

Fast and "free" traffic are really two words which don't like to live together.

Although I wouldn't suggest you create big hopes for driving free traffic fast, here are some of the possibilities to drive it quickly:

1. Do syndication marketing where you offer your free stuff to other webmasters. In return you hope for some fresh leads.

2. Write a quality guest post and get it published on a BIG blog in your niche. Hope for the best.

3. Write epic content and then do ezine advertising. Instead of paying, like for a solo ad, you skip the expenses and get it published in their email, for the autoresponder.

But honestly, you have to believe that there's not such a thing as free quick traffic. Only after you get some experience, you can start driving it more quickly.

Plus, creating momentum is always a good thing online.

P.S. Social media is a laugh. There are only a few people who can drive consistent traffic from social media every day, and who have grown their businesses this way. You can count them on the fingers of one hand.

When i was reading this whole thread i am surprised that google alert tool that google itself provide is not mentioned when comes to blog comment or updating any other post that related to your niche, by utilizing this method alone you could quickly bring some traffic by blog commenting or something similar.

On top of that i still believe that Paid traffic is of course the fastest way to get traffic but it could be a waste of money if you are just getting started on internet marketing.

Easy is a relative word. What's easy for one person may be difficult for another. But I focus on SEO for traffic. Not because it's easy but because it's the most stable traffic there is.

Here is my blueprint of getting traffic website very FAST!-
1. Find some high traffic website blog/community related to your niche (see Alexa rank)
2. After then engage yourself with that website.
3. And make your own activity with website URL, you are trying to promote.

If you want fast results then just paid traffic can help you.

Hello Steph, I currently am engaging with video marketing, facebook and blogging. It has worked out great for me. I am now getting a subscriber per day it can be difficult at times but it does not mean free traffic sources dont work. As you may already now youtube is the #1 video traffic there is. Creating informative videos is a great thing to do when wanting to get video traffic. Facebook one of my top favorite social media sites there is has a tremedous amount of traffic as well with over 800 milion users and counting, you may want to start your own facebook fan page to start geeting trafic for it. There are many alternatives for paid traffic steph... so dont worry. It all requires determination and hard work.

The best I can suggest you is to do social marketing. Create few Facebook pages with relevant to your product or niche. Then bring some fans on those Facebook pages. Keep posting on those pages and get good traffic, this is ultimate way to generate plenty of traffic, and its all free. Good Luck

2. Comment on relevant blogs in your niche. Also be helpful and informative. Voice your own opinions, don't just say "I agree".

3. Start using twitter and facebook. With twitter, look into JustRetweet and Triberr.

4. Try writing SEO optimized blog posts.

5. Article syndication. Alexa Smith is an expert on this, and you can easily find her explanations on this site.

The fastest traffic method I use is using Facebook and Twitter and interacting with people though social media, targeted traffic usually comes om you taking action and branding yourself and your business, there are other ways as well like for example paid traffic but paid traffic doesn't work sometimes because you don't get to interact that well with people and sometimes they wont even no who you are and will think that you are just trying to make money out of them, the only way you make good targeted traffic is by building relationships with people and introducing yourself, remember people wont just buy from you, they need to know who you are and what you can provide them with.

With your time there's plenty you can do to obtain free traffic. You could write articles and submit them to various article directories, squidoo, and perhaps guest blog. Social bookmarking websites like Stumbleupon, Reddit, Digg, Delicious, can be effective. Social Networking Websites or video marketing are always a plus, and free. I could go on and on, but it depends on your product and your effort. Also one more thing: CREATE A SQUEEZE PAGE or LANDING PAGE!!! My biggest mistake in the beginning of my IM career was not doing it and I probably lost on on lots of $$$ because of it.

Perhaps you could try guest posting. I have not done it myself (I plan to do it in the near future) but I have heard that it is a very effective method.

Another recommendation...

Buy Reddit's ad program... It's cheap and you get huge traffic in no time...

Different things work better for different people - blog commenting never works that well for me but others swear by it. I find forums a great source of traffic - but you have to be a useful member over quite a long time, so it's a long term strategy.

Also try social & social-like networks: Google+, Triberr, Twitter, etc..
